WWE Money In The Bank 2012 Review

I apologize for taking so long, but it has been the longest couple of weeks ever, so many issues these 2 weeks. But let’s move on and coming into this PPV, I was pretty excited, not like last year but I was excited because the WWE title match and both ladder matches. So let’s get started!

Alright, here we go and this was the MITB match I was looking forward to the most. I mean you have Ziggler, Christian, Sin Cara and Tyson Kidd, who are great risk takers. Then you had Tensai, who is the muscle of the group and I expected him to have moments he’d dominate everyone in his way. Damien Sandow is someone, who I think has a bright future but just not ready to be the winner yet but I figured he’d have a few moments in the match. Cody Rhodes was one of the favorites of the match because I can see him being elevated into the main event scene and would have some good moments also. Then we had Santino, who I think would bring the comedy into the match and would have zero chance of winning. The match was great and had some great spots, from Tensai power bombing Sin Cara on a ladder bridged from the announce table to the ring, kind of like last year when Sheamus done it. Also, the craziest spot was when Tensai tossed Ziggler over the announce table to the chairs, scary spot. Chirstian also speared Rhodes off the ladder during the match. During the match, Kidd hit a sunset flip power bomb from a ladder on Ziggler, who also was on a ladder. The ending came when Christian was close to grabbing the briefcase but Ziggler came from behind him and pushed him off the ladder to get the briefcase. Winner: Dolph Ziggler

Match Rating: 4.25/5- Great opening match, the crowd was into the match the entire time. The right guy won it.

These 2 have had a nice build up, with Del Rio getting the best out of him several times, including smashing the head of Sheamus with the roof of a car busting him open. I expected for them to have a great match because they’re good wrestlers. Every since Sheamus captured the title he has been on a good run and had several good matches since then. Now, this match, it started out really slow with both guys getting in some offense on one another. After a hile, the pace of the match picked up with several nearfalls until Sheamus hit White Noise and then hit the Brogue Kick for the win. Afterwards, Del Rio and Rodriguez attacked Sheamus after the match, until Ziggler came out to cash in his newly won MITB contract but was stopped by Del Rio, who had words with him until Sheamus came through and hit a Brogue Kick on Ziggler before he had a chance to cash in the contract. Winner and Still Heavyweight Champ: Sheamus

Match Rating: 3/5

Prime Time Players w/A.W vs. Epico and Primo w/Rosa Mendez

These 2 teams have been feuding for over a month when A.W was managing Primo and Epico but turned on them to help out the Prime Time Players at last months No Way Out PPV. Now I actually like the Prime Time Players and A.W, I think they could be big if booked right. Now, as far as the match it was a usual tag match with Prime Time Players controlling most of the match until they were playing around and then Primo rolled up Darren Young for the win. Winners: Epico and Primo w/Rosa Mendez

Match Rating: 2/5

This match between 2 of my favorites wrestlers has already had a great build up and matches prior to this match. It took more of a crazy turn with the love triangle involving A.J with Kane being involved briefly. This match here was physical with stiff chops, kicks and forearms. Also in the match they brought in a chair, table and kendo stick. During the match, A.J was knocked to the floor by C.M. Punk on accident and was taken to the back and another referee came out. She eventually came back and called the match down the middle. The match had several nearfalls also. The finish came when Punk hit a back body drop from the top rope on Bryan through a table. Winner and Still WWE Champion: C.M. Punk

Match Rating: 3.5/5- Not as great as there other matches but it was still a really good match

Ryback vs. Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks

Hawkins and Reks both have lost to him individually and now they’re trying together. They had the advantage on him early on but he eventually took control and tossed Hawkins out and hit Reks with the Shell Shocked for the win. Winner: Ryback

Match Rating: 1.5/5

Layla, Kaitlyn and Tamina Snuka vs. Beth Phoenix, Natalya and Eve Torres

Note to WWE, please make the divas relevant and get some more women who can wrestle. If you want to make them worth something, bring back Kharma and let her Beth Phoenix and Natalya run the division. Also give Layla, Tamina and Eve a little more training because I think they have potential. The match seen Layla pin Beth Phoenix when Tamina super kicked her and Layla hit the reverse neck breaker. Winners: Layla, Kaitlyn and Tamina Snuka

Match Rating: 1.5/5

Theis MITB ladder match featured all former WWE champions and earlier in the night the Miz added himself to the match to make it 5 guys now. All guys had there chances to get the briefcase with the Big Show dominating throughout the match until he was hit with the Attitude Adjustment through the announce table and was swarmed with ladders from all the guys involved in the match. He later entered the ring and cleared everyone out and threw ladders from the ring onto Kane and The Miz. It’s crazy how Big Show was breaking ladders with his hands. Towards the end of the match, Show dragged a huge ladder from under the ring and wa climbing the ladder until Kane slowed him down but was knocked down by Big Show, then Cena tried to stop him but was knocked down also, then Jericho knocked him down with chairshots. Jericho and Cena climbed the ladder and fought until Jericho got Cena in the sleeper holder while on the ladder and he knocked Miz down when he came from the other side and also knocked Cena down. It was down to Jericho and Miz, who both had there hands on the briefcase until Big Show climbed on the ladder and knocked both Miz and Jericho out. He was joined by Cena, who started to use the briefcase to hit Big Show until it broke off and he won the match but continued to hit Show until he fell off. Winner: John Cena

Match Rating: 3/5- All of these guys had there chances and Big Show dominated.

Overall Rating: 3/5- Wish they’d advertise an entire card instead of having 3 impromptu matches. This was a good PPV, no where near as good as last year but still had its moments. Smackdown MITB match was great and the match of the night. Punk/Bryan was really good. The World Heavyweight title match was good also, so was the Raw MITB match.
