Daddy’s Hangout Presents College Football Predictions 10/3- 10/5/2013

NCAA

Last week my record was 5-3, which was must different when the prior week I was undefeated, my record now is 22-8, dropping my winning percentage from 77.3% to 73.3%. There were some great games this past week, featured by the game between the LSU Tigers and the Georgia Bulldogs. We also had other games between ranked teams with Alabama beating Ole Miss, Ohio State beating Wisconsin and the Sooners beating the Fighting Irish. This week we have 3 games featuring top 25 teams headlined by the 15th ranked Washington Huskies visiting the 5th ranked Stanford Cardinal and the 4th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes visiting the 16th Northwestern Wildcats. We also have the 25th ranked Maryland Terrapins visiting the 8th ranked Florida State Seminoles. Let’s Get Started!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WashingtonStanford-university-logo2We have 2 of the top teams in the Pac-12 when the 15th ranked Washington Huskies visit the 5th ranked Stanford Cardinal. The Huskies come into the game only allowing a shade under 11 points a game, ranking them 4th in the country. They have the 11th ranked rushing offense in the country, averaging about 228 yards a game and about the same through the air, so they have a balanced offense and a good defense. Stanford doesn’t have the great stats that the Huskies bring to the table but they’ve continued to be one of the toughest teams that just get the job done. This will be a great game and I believe the Cardinal will use the home field advantage to help them win.

Cardinal Win 35-24

OhioStateLogonorthwestern-logoANow here we have 2 of the best teams coming out of the Big-10 when the 4th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes have to go on the road and meet the 16th ranked Northwestern Wildcats. The Buckeyes are averaging 500 yards a game on offense, with around 287 yards coming on the ground. Braxton Miller has played great before and after his knee injury, also the offense hasn’t missed a beat with and without him seeing they’re averaging 48 points a game. The Wildcats are averaging around 480 yards a game and they also boast a great running game also, but the difference is their defense is giving up almost 24 points a game and that’ll be the difference in this game. I’m going with the Buckeyes on the road!!!!!

Buckeyes Win 38-28

univeristy-of-maryland-terrapins-logofsu-logoHere we have a great ACC battle when the undefeated 25th ranked Maryland Terrapins visit the 8th ranked Florida State Seminoles. The Terrapins are coming off a bye week after they shutout West Virginia and they’re rank 3rd in the country giving up a little over 10 points a game. The offense puts up around 500 yards a game and average almost 40 points a game also. The Seminoles are averaging over 530 yards of offense and they’re scoring over 51 points a game. The defense has played well also, while giving up 15 points a game. QB Jameis Winston will finally go up against a great defense, will he continue to play great or show that he’s a freshman. I think he’ll have his moments but in the end he’ll lead to Seminoles to the win.

Seminoles Win 33-21

Ole MissAuburn_TigersThis is a SEC West match-up between the 24th ranked Ole Miss Rebels visiting the Auburn Tigers. The Rebels looked promising before last weekend when they were shutout by the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Rebels were rolling on offense and the touted freshmen the Rebels have are playing great. This is the 3rd tough game out of 5 for the Rebels seeing they faced the Longhorns prior to the Tide. The Tigers started the season 3-0 before losing to the LSU 35-21. Could that just be a road block to a great season or could it be the beginning of a downward spiral? I believe the Rebels are a better team and think they’ll beat the Tigers.

                                                                                                    Rebels Win 31-21

GeorgiaTech_logomiamiThis is a big match-up in the ACC when the 3-1 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets visit the undefeated 14th ranked Miami Hurricanes. The Yellow Jackets are once again one of the top rushing teams in the country with the triple option they love to run. They’re coming off a huge loss against Virginia Tech and they’re only giving less than 13 points a game. The Hurricanes have had a great season which is highlighted by a win against the Florida Gators. The Hurricanes are scoring a lot of points, averaging 45 points a game while giving up 12.5 points a game. I see the Hurricanes continuing to play well and beat the Yellow Jackets.

                                                                                                    Hurricanes Win 34-21

That’ll be all, there are some other games that could be potentially good but I’m not sold on them. Come back next week to see how I fared.
