Are you still trying to live the American Dream? What exactly is the American Dream? Is the American Dream to you still attainable? Growing up my parents’ vision of the American Dream was probably just to have the opportunity to provide for my sister and I despite so many obstacles placed in front of us. This was probably the same vision my grandparents had with my parents despite all the racism in place during that time.

As time has gone by, the more things have changed; it seems like they’ve stayed the same as core values goes. Now that I have my own family I can honestly say that I’m living the American Dream because we all are healthy, live in a beautiful home in a great neighborhood, my kids are going to great schools, I’m employed and we’re just living life to the fullest.

Last year, to help achieve more of the American Dream we sold our house and we moved to a better situation with the kids going to better schools, which meant the world to everyone. If you need help in trying to achieve the American Dream, why not take a look at MassMutual’s State of the American Family Study and you can access here.

While there you can learn about several things that will definitely interest you whether it’s the Perception of the American Dream, Debt, Planning for retirement or saving for College. One of my favorite things on the site is the Top Four Financial Concerns, which is:

1. Putting family first;

2. Being actively involved in household financial decisions;

3. Educating children about money; and

4. Making sure that children aren’t burdened by parents’ care as they age.

Your family is the most important thing in your life. With so many competing priorities, such as saving for retirement, planning for your kids’ college education expenses, and ensuring that the mortgage and other household bills are paid, how can you be sure that you are prepared enough?

MassMutual is here to help you to ease all of your burdens you may encounter throughout life whether it’s protecting your family, Save for retirement, saving for college and to educate your children about money.
