This is Week 2 of the NFL season and last week couldn’t have been better with my 7-0 start to my prediction season…………yeah I’m boasting about it. This week I’ll be predicting about 6 games and hopefully I can continue to have success and reach my 70% winning percentage. We’ll kick things off with the Thursday night game when the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to the Baltimore Ravens. Let’s Get Started!!!!!
This is the Thursday Night game when the Pittsburgh Steelers travel to the Baltimore Ravens. The Steelers opened the season with a hard-fought win over the Cleveland Browns in the final seconds of the game. The Steelers offense looked great with Big Ben having a great game throwing and the Steeler running game looking like the typical running game. On the other hand, the Baltimore Ravens has been dealing with the Ray Rice issue so this could be some of a relief for them to take their frustration out on their rival. They’re coming off a tough loss to their division rival Bengals. This will be a hard hitting, hard fought and physical game between the rivals. In the end, I believe the Ravens will overcome everything they’ve been dealing with to beat the Steelers.
Ravens Win 20-17
Who would’ve thought entering the game that they both would be undefeated? Yeah, it’s only 1 game but not too many people predicted the Bills to beat the Bears and the Dolphins beating the Patriots. The Miami Dolphins seemed to finally found a running game in the form of recently acquired Knowshown Mareno. The Dolphins used their running game and stingy defense to frustrate the Patriots all day. On the other hand, how many people had the Bills going to Soldier Field and beating the Bears? The Bills used the same formula as the Dolphins, which was a strong running game but with a stingy run defense. Can E.J. Manuel continue to limit his turnovers and pull off another huge win? I think the Dolphins are a better team, so I’m going with them to win on the road.
Dolphins Win 24-21
This is a battle between 2 teams with 100 million dollar QBs and a couple of teams that are looking to make a Super Bowl run. The Atlanta Falcons are coming off a tough, hard fought win against their rival New Orleans Saints. Matt Ryan had a field day last week against the Saints defense and with all the weapons he has around him, could he have his best year and possibly an MVP year? Andy Dalton had a pretty good game last week also and could have another good one against the Falcons secondary. This will be a tough game for the Bengals secondary trying to cover Julio Jones, Roddy White, Devin Hester and Harry Douglas. This should be a shootout between 2 good offenses but in the end I believe the Bengals defense is better and will win this game.
Bengals Win 35-31
This is a battle between 2 of the better teams in the NFC. The Detroit Lions will travel to face the Carolina Panthers in their home opener. The Detroit Lions beat the Giants last week because of their defense and great passing offense lead by Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. Matthew Stafford passed for almost 350 yards, in which over 160 yards were to Calvin Johnson. Carolina won their opener on the road against the Bucs without Cam Newton and their offense should improve with his return. They gave the Buccaneers pass offense fits last week, but this is the Detroit Lions, Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson. I think the Lions are poised to have a big season and with the weapons they have on offense and their tough defense. I’m going with the Lions to win on the road!!!
Lions Win 31-21
This is the Monday Night game where the Indianapolis Colts will host the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles are coming off a win against the Jaguars last week after sleeping through first half. If the Eagles play the first half against Colts like they did against the Jaguars, they will be blown out. The run defense played great for the Eagles and the running game with dual threats at running back that will continue to help Nick Foles. The Colts are coming off a tough loss against the Broncos last week and will look to bounce back in a major way against the Eagles. The Colts have one of the best QBs in the league and one of the better passing offenses, which will give the Eagles issues. If Chad Henne can give the Eagles defense fits, then I know Andrew Luck could have a field day. Colts Win!!!
Colts Win 38-24
