Welcome to Week 5 of the college football season and last week I finished 3-1, which raised my record to 12-5 and my winning percentage jumps a little from 69.2% to 70.6%. This week there’s about 3 games that I will be trying to predict and hopefully I can maintain a 70% winning percentage. Last week I correctly predicted Florida State, Auburn and Alabama but I was wrong to think that West Virginia would upset Oklahoma. Let’s see how things will fare for me this week.
This is the Thursday night game between 2 top-15 teams from the Pac-12 conference when the 11th ranked UCLA Bruins visit the 15th ranked Arizona State Sun Devils. The Bruins were an early season favorite to play in the college football Final 4 but they have not played up to par and their star QB Brett Hundley has an injured elbow and he’s questionable. On the other hand, the Sun Devils enter this game with an injured QB also with Taylor Kelly going down with an injury. This is a huge game for both of them and the Pac-12 South to see who would play for the conference championship. The Bruins haven’t played good and will lose this game.
Sun Devils Win 31-21
This is a battle between 2 undefeated teams in the ACC when the top ranked Florida State Seminoles visit their old nemesis N.C. State Wolfpack. The Seminoles will get QB Jameis Winston back under center and they hope to continue their run to a repeat championship. The Seminoles don’t look like the same team from last year and will have their hands full this week. The Wolfpack have a record of 4-0 and this will be their first test of the season. The last time the Wolfpack hosted the Seminoles they were able to pull off the huge upset at the end of the game. I’m going with the Seminoles to win this game.
Seminoles Win 34-31
This is a battle between 2 SEC East teams looking to improve their position in the conference. The Tennessee Volunteers visit one of their rival 12th ranked Georgia Bulldogs. Neither are a part of the tough SEC West and the SEC East is pretty much wide open. The Volunteers are coming off a loss in Oklahoma and are looking to rebound in their first SEC conference game. The Georgia Bulldogs were talked about as a potential national championship contender until they were beat by South Carolina. They are trying to win their first SEC game and hopefully get back into the conversation of being one of the better teams in the nation. Georgia Wins!!!
Bulldogs Win 45-31
