Welcome to Week 6 of the college football season and last week my record was 2-1, which make my record 14-6 and my winning percentage goes from 70.6% to 70%. This week should be the best weekend for college football we’ve had all season because we have 6 games with ranked teams facing each other. I’m so ready for Saturday because I’ll probably be in front of the TV all day. In addition to the 6 big games on Saturday we have a Thursday night game in the Pac-12 featuring the 2nd ranked Oregon Ducks hosting the undefeated Arizona Wildcats. Let’s Get Started!!!!!

alabama-football-logo-wallpaperOle MissThis is one of a few big games in the SEC this week when the 3rd ranked Alabama Crimson Tide finally hit the road, well they played their first game on a neutral field but they travel to meet the 11th ranked Ole Miss Rebels. The Tide is facing a tough task as they face the upstart Rebels who’s trying to make a statement by beating them. How will Blake Sims handle the pressure? The Rebels have started the season 4-0 and have reached to #11 in the nation and they want to make the next step and beat the bully of the SEC for the past few years. Bo Wallace has played great and I believe he’ll have a great game against the Tide but will make a costly mistake in the end and the Tide will win.

                                                                    Crimson Tide Win 31-28

texas-am-logoMississippi StateHere is another battle between 2 teams in the top 15 that are in the SEC West when the 6th ranked Texas A&M Aggies travel to meet the 12th ranked Mississippi State Bulldogs. The Aggies are coming off a tough win in Texas Stadium against Arkansas. The Aggies look like one of the best teams in the country and this could be a scary game against the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are coming off a bye week after their huge upset at LSU the previous week. Dak Prescott has emerged as one of the best QBs in the conference and will face another challenge in the Aggie defense and facing another good QB in Kenny Hill. This is another tough game to pick and this should be another close game for the Aggies but they will win.

                                                                    Aggies Win 38-31

LSU-Logo1Auburn_TigersThis is Game 3 of what it seems like an elimination tournament for the SEC West when the 15th ranked LSU Tigers travel to face the 5th ranked Auburn Tigers. The LSU Tigers need a win against Auburn because they have already lost to Mississippi State a couple of weeks ago. They will be starting a new QB and one that gives the offense a better look and could be the key to victory. The Auburn Tigers are trying to reach the championship again and they have a tough road to get to that point and with the LSU defense giving up 13 points, can they bread down their defense? With both teams scoring over 40 points a game, this will be low scoring with Auburn pulling it out.

                                                                   Auburn Win 20-17

Stanford-university-logo22011 Notre Dame MascotThis game features 2 teams that have been rivals for years when the 14th ranked Stanford Cardinal visit the 9th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Stanford Cardinal is just a gritty, hard hitting and just a tough team. They’re ranked 1st in the nation with points allowed which is under 7 points a game. The Irish have looked like a new team since QB Everett Golston has returned from his 1 year hiatus. Notre Dame also bolster a tough defense also and they’re ranked 4th in the nation in points allowed that’s under 12 points a game. The Irish are hoping to pull out this game because in a couple of weeks they play the top ranked Florida State Seminoles. The Irish will win this lose game!!

                                                                    Irish Win 23-17

oklahoma-sooners-logotcu_horned_frogsThis is a game between 2 of the 5 teams in the Big 12 that’s ranked in the top 25 when the 4th ranked Oklahoma Sooners visit the 25th ranked TCU Horned Frogs. The Oklahoma Sooners have been one of the teams that some experts call the best team in the country and they average almost 45 points a game. The TCU Horned Frogs come into the game with a 3-0 record and they have showed to have a good defense and offense. The Horned Frogs rank 2nd in the nation in scoring defense and 10th in scoring offense. Can they overcome the conference power and surprise the Sooners at home? I’m going with the Sooners to win this game!!

Sooners Win 38-28

University-of-Nebraska-logoMichigan_State_LogoWe now head to Big 10 country to see 2 teams that are tanked in the top 20 when the 19th ranked Nebraska Cornhuskers visit the 10th ranked Michigan State Spartans. The Cornhuskers are led by one of the best rushing offenses in the country with over 350 yards a game while scoring over 45 points a game. The Michigan State Spartans even though with 1 loss are a team that many still believe should be one of the final 4 teams in the playoffs at the end of the year. They ranked 3rd in the country in scoring and have one of the better defenses also. They have a balanced attack on offense which will be the reason they will beat Nebraska at home.

Spartans Win 45-27

ArizonaLogoUniversity_Of_Oregon_LogoLast but not least, this is the Thursday night game when the Arizona Wildcats visit the 2nd ranked Oregon Ducks in a battle of undefeated teams. The Arizona Cardinals come into the game with a 4-0 record and trying to make a statement by beating the Ducks on national TV. The Ducks are trying to continue their dominance on the conference and not overlook the Wildcats because they travel to meet UCLA next Saturday. Marcus Mariota has the spotlight and could move up to the top of the list of Heisman candidates with a strong performance as many expect him to have. I’m going with the Ducks to win big over the Wildcats.

Ducks Win 52-28

That’s all for Week 6 and this is definitely the best group of games by far this year. With 6 games that feature ranked teams going against each other this will be an exciting weekend for college football. What did you think about my picks of these top games? Who will be the top 3 teams out of the SEC West after this weekend? Can I stay at or above the 70% winning percentage after this weekend? Come back next week to see how I fare.
