Welcome to Week 8 of the NFL season and last week I had a perfect week by going 5-0 and improving my overall record to 27-13. My winning percentage jumps from 62.9% to 67.5% and hopefully I can move closely to that 70% winning percentage goal. This week I’ll be predicting 6 games and maybe I can get to the 70%!! Let’s Get Started!!!!
This is a great Thursday night game between 2 of the better teams in the NFL as San Diego Chargers visit division rival Denver Broncos. The Chargers are coming off a huge division loss to another division rival at home last week and they’re looking to rebound from that loss. Philip Rivers is probably an MVP candidate and a win in Denver could make him a serious contender. The Denver Broncos could create some distance in the division with a win and Peyton Manning is coming off of breaking the all-time record for TD passes and he’s once again have been talked about as league MVP. I’m going with the Broncos!!!!
Broncos Win 31-21
This is a battle between 2 teams in the NFC that’s struggling as the Seattle Seahawks travel to face the Carolina Panthers. The Seahawks are in the midst of a 2 game losing streak and it seems like there’s issues in the locker room now. The big issue has been the defense and they just don’t look like the same team from last year. The Carolina Panthers are coming off a beat down from the Packers last week and they have only won 1 game in the last 5 and that includes a tie against Cincinnati. With a struggling offense and defense I think the Panthers lose this game.
Seahawks Win 23-21
Here is a huge battle in the AFC North between the 2 top teams as the Baltimore Ravens visit the Cincinnati Bengals. The Ravens have won 2 games in a row and 5 of 6 since they lost their season opener. Joe Flacco has looked great these last couple of games and Steve Smith Sr. has been an absolute beast this year also. The Bengals haven’t won a game in over a month and that include a tie game with the Panthers and being blown out by the Patriots and the Colts. The Bengals need to win this game because the Ravens could start pulling away from them and I believe in the Bengals.
Bengals Win 26-20
Here is a battle between 2 of the best teams in the NFC when the Philadelphia Eagles visit the Arizona Cardinals. The Eagles are coming off a bye week and should be fairly healthy as they enter this game. Nick Foles returns to Arizona and this could be a huge game for him seeing he played his college ball at Arizona. This could be a playoff match-up in a couple of months. The Arizona Cardinals have the top ranked rush defense but they also have a pass defense that’s next to last in the NFL. They’ve struggled on offense and they’re hoping Palmer get into a groove but I’m going with the Eagles.
Eagles Win 27-24
This is a huge AFC battle as the Indianapolis Colts visit the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Colts have won 5 games in a row after starting the season with 2 losses in a row. Andrew Luck is probably the front runner for the league MVP so far and he’s been an absolute beast. How will the Reggie Wayne injury affect the Colts and Andrew Luck? The Steelers are coming off a big Monday night win over the Texans and they have alternated wins and losses all season. The Steelers have played up and down all season and this game will be no different and I believe the Colts pick up the road win.
Colts Win 34-31
This is the Sunday night game between 2 high octane offenses as the Green Bay Packers visit the New Orleans Saints. The Packers started the season 1-2 and people were going crazy to the point Aaron Rodgers told the fans to relax. Now they’ve won 4 games in a row and Rodgers look like the best QB in the league and the defense has played better. The Saints are coming off a tough 1 point loss in Detroit last week and even with a 2-4 record, they’re still in contention for the division lead. The offense has played great and the defense has been suspect at times and I believe they win this game.
Saints Win 34-27
This is the Monday night game as the Washington Redskins visit their longtime rival Dallas Cowboys. The Redskins have struggled all year and now they will start their 3rd different QB this year as they go with Colt McCoy. The Redskins are one of the top passing offenses in the league and they’re good at stopping the pass also. The Cowboys is probably the best team in the league and they’re lead by the league top rusher DeMarco Murray. The Cowboys have won 6 games in a row and with them having the top rush offense it has made their defense better. Cowboys win easily!!!!
Cowboys Win 38-21
