Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw and the final one of 2014 as they’re in Washington D.C with guest GMs Edge & Christian. Last week Raw was okay but with this being the final Raw of the year I’m expecting them to go all out this week and the following week. Let’s see how things played out!!!
Good

Opening Segment: It was really good seeing one of my favorite tag teams of all-time on Raw and they done a great job with this opener. They started out talking about the great memories they had and was about the do their 5 second pose until they were interrupted by Paul Heyman & Brock Lesnar. After talking Brock Lesnar threatened to attack both Edge & Christian until Cena came down to confront them. Cena went to attack Heyman which lead to Lesnar coming at Cena, who had him up in the AA until Lesnar escaped & left the ring.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Rusev: Pretty good match which saw Rusev get disqualified when he applied his submission hold through the ropes and wouldn’t break the hold. Ryback came out to make the save and then gave a pretty good promo about his journey to the WWE.

Miz & Damien Mizdow vs. Usos: This match started out pretty slowly but it picked up and turned into a really good match with the fans chanting “this is awesome”. We got a few nearfalls and we saw Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale on one of the Usos but he kicked out. The Usos hit a double super kick on the Miz, followed by a splash from the top rope and we have new tag team champs.

Daniel Bryan Announcement: It was made out like he was actually going to retire. He talked about his 2014 year which included feuding with the Authority, winning the WWE Title @ Wrestlemania, getting injured, losing his father and getting married. He then announced that he’s back and will be a part of the 2015 Royal Rumble. YES! YES! YES! Great segment!!

Cutting Edge Peep Show: This was the final segment of Raw that saw Edge & Christian have Seth Rollins as the guest and he brought out the Big Show. After talking some more, Rollins called out Cena who never would show up and when he wouldn’t show up, he hit Christian in the stomach with the briefcase. Edge got in his face but was quickly surrounded by J&J Security, Rollins and the Big Show. Big Show grabbed him by the neck and Rollins threatened to curbstomp him and Cena finally came out. Rollins told Cena he would break the neck of Edge and he couldn’t hold his new baby anymore but he would let him up if he brought back the Authority. Cena eventually gave in and went to brawl with everyone in the ring but was knocked out by Big Show and Rollins curbstomped him. Rollins and Big Show made their way up the ramp when Heyman & Lesnar made their way to the stage also. The music of the Authority hit and that brought out Triple H & Stephanie with wine glasses.

Bad

Bad News Barrett vs. Cesaro: Cesaro was sitting in the corner with a mic and talked about he don’t care about pyro or anything else but he just like to wrestle and he’s the best which got a good reaction out of the fans. He says no one in the back can touch him in the ring and that brought out Barrett and he went on the defeat Cesaro. Is Barrett a face now? Is Cesaro getting punished now? It bothered me when Vince said Cesaro doesn’t connect with the fans when they should’ve turned him face after winning the inaugural Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal @ Wrestlemania and the fans was behind him doing the Cesaro Swing. So they dropped the ball on Cesaro, not the other way around.

Luke Harper vs. Jack Swagger: This could be a good feud but the fans don’t care about Swagger and they shouldn’t because he hasn’t done anything.

Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns: This should’ve had a week long build but it was something that was announced earlier in the day. It wasn’t a bad match but I don’t think Reigns is ready to main event Wrestlemania right now. How bad did it look when Big Show threw Reigns over the announce table and actually throw the announce table on him?

Ugly

Nikki Bella vs. Natalya: This match was over quick and they’re still teasing dissension between Nattie & Tyson.

Miz & Damien Mizdow vs. The Ascension: This was the Raw debut of the Ascension and I didn’t like it @ all. First thing that came to mind when they came to the ring was it looked like they put on some weight and Vince wouldn’t like that, which has been reported now. Also seeing the Mizdow already wrestled a competitive match earlier I thought this was a bad team to debut against and are they faces?

Overall Rating: 6/10- This edition of Raw had several different newsworthy happenings. First off, I like to say that I’m happy that Daniel Bryan is returning at the Royal Rumble and I would love a David vs. Goliath storyline between him and Brock Lesnar for Mania. It was nice to see Edge & Christian throughout the night also, plus they were featured a lot during the show. The opening segment was really good that was followed by the Ziggler/Rusev match that was pretty good. The tag title match was really good and it was good to see the Usos capture the titles again. I believe that it’s too soon for the Authority to be back on TV, I mean I think I would’ve waited until after the PPV or next week at the earliest definitely not the same night Daniel Bryan announced he’s coming back. I had high hopes that maybe they were going to do something with Cesaro but he was only used for the returning Bad news Barrett and is he a face now?

Top 5 Happening on Raw:
1) Daniel Bryan Announcing he’s coming back @ the Royal Rumble
2) Edge & Christian
3) The Authority Being Brought Back
4) The Usos Winning the Tag Titles Again
5) Bad News Barrett Return

What did you think about this edition of Monday Night Raw? What were your highlights and lowlights? What did you think about the announcement from Daniel Bryan? What did you think about the Authority coming back so soon?
