WWE Monday Night Raw Review 3/23/2015

Monday Night Raw Logo

Welcome to the final edition of Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania 31 as they hail from Los Angeles, CA. Last week was a pretty good edition of Raw and hopefully they’ll capitalize on that with another good Raw as we head to WrestleMania. Let’s Get Started!!!

Good

Opening Segment: Never in a million years I would thought I’d see Sting starting out Monday Night Raw. He cut a good promo about not fighting for WCW but to take down Triple H who schemed his way to the top. That brought out Steph, who pretty insulted Sting and WCW then went to slap Sting but he stopped her and that brought out Triple H. Triple H went to go in the ring but Steph pulled out the sledgehammer from under the ring then Sting pulled out the bat and Triple H retreated. Sting look like he’s having a lot of fun!!!

Dean Ambrose & R-Truth vs. Stardust & Luke Harper: This was a good tag match and I can’t wait for the IC title Ladder match @ Mania.

Nikki Bella vs. Paige: Wow!!! This was a really good match by the Divas for the championship. Maybe this #GiveDivasAChance thing is what was needed. When Paige and Nikki was outside, Brie went to Paige but A.J. knocked her down then Paige went to A.J. from behind but was met by an accidental elbow from her. This allowed Nikki to roll Paige into the ring after hitting her with a forearm and then hit her finisher for the win. Afterwards, Paige attacked A.J!!!!

Snoop Dogg, Curtis Axel & Hulk Hogan Segment: Some people will hate this segment, but I thought it was pretty fun because I knew sooner or later that Hogan would confront Axel about his #AxelMania. This was perfect and absolutely funny seeing Snoop pose with Hogan. It was pretty funny when Hogan asked Snoop what Axel was smoking.

Rusev vs. Jack Swagger: This wasn’t a good thing because of the match with Swagger, but when he wouldn’t let go of the Acolade that brought out Cena to help Swagger. The 2 brawled until Swagger got the upper hand and then proceeded to dismantle Cena.

Bray Wyatt Promo: I honestly believe he’s the only one who could carry a feud by himself. This promo was great just like the other promos leading up to his match with Undertaker @ Mania.

Kevin Nash aka Diesel Hall of Fame Induction: One of the coolest dudes to ever be a professional wrestler and one of my favorites ever. This dude had so much swagger from his gear as Diesel to when he came out sporting FUBU, Jordans and seeing interviews where he talked about his love for hip hop.

Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler: Dean Ambrose was the special referee as voted on by the fans. The match was pretty good as expected and after Ziggler won the match, Ambrose goes to grab him but Dolph pushed him off but was met with the Dirty Deeds. Ambrose grabbed a ladder and went to retrieve the IC title but the rest of the guys involved in the match ran down to fight. In the end, all the wrestlers were laid out after doing battle!!!

Paul Heyman/Brock Lesnar/Roman Reigns Segment: Heyman is a master on that mic and he delivered once again. The end saw Lesnar & Reigns face to face with Brock holding the championship up looking @ Reigns. Reigns snatched the title from Brock hands and then Lesnar grabbed the title back that began a tug-of-war as Raw ended. I have a feeling Heyman might turn on Lesnar because he’s been praising Reigns a lot lately.

Bad

Miz, Mizdow, Adam Rose @ The Ascension vs. Ryback, Erick Rowan, Zach Ryder & Prime Time Players: Just not looking forward to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal this year.

Randy Orton vs. J&J Security and Seth Rollins: Looking forward to the match between Rollins and Orton @ Mania but this match didn’t do anything for me since Rollins ran from Orton most of the match.

Ugly

The tag team division: Los Matadores pinned the champs. ‘Nuff said!!!

Overall Rating: 7/10- This was the go-home show as we head to WrestleMania this coming Sunday. I think the Reigns/Lesnar has more intrigued to it heading to the event, the IC championship ladder match is a must watch for me. Sting/Triple H definitely sold me on their match heading into WrestleMania and Bray Wyatt has done an exceptional job carrying his feud with the Undertaker. The Divas title match definitely delivered one of the best Divas matches on the main roster in a long time. The Rusev beat down of Cena was also great and I’m looking forward to their match @ Mania also. I was pleased to see Kevin Nash aka Diesel finally enters the WWE Hall of Fame and I like how the segment with Snoop, Hogan and Curtis Axel played out.

Top 5 Happenings on Raw:
1) Sting/Triple H Build
2) IC/US Championship Build
3) Paul Heyman/Roman Reigns/Brock Lesnar
4) Divas Title Match
5) Kevin Nash Going into Hall of Fame
