The Economy of Youth Sports

Youth sports is an industry that contributes to local economies across the country, generating $7 billion dollars in revenue for traveling expenses alone. As the graphic by University of Florida points out, each non-local family spends an average of $985 on hotels, meals, and concessions when visiting other cities for tournaments. Youth sports tourism can often times be the lifeblood of local economies.
