Monday Night Raw 8/17/2015

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw as they hail from Minneapolis, Minnesota with Summerslam being this Sunday. Last week, Monday Night Raw was really good and hopefully with Summerslam being this Sunday, that trend continues. Let’s see how things played out on Monday Night Raw.

Good:

Opening Segment: The Authority opened the show by hyping all the matches for Summerslam by basically announcing the matches on the card, while making matches for Monday Night Raw. Afterwards, Stephanie announced that Jon Stewart will be the celebrity host for Summerslam.

Randy Orton & Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens & Sheamus: This was a pretty good tag match, as expected. The match had a couple of hiccups towards the end, but it turned out to be a good match and at Summerslam, Owens/Cesaro & Sheamus/Orton should be really good.

Roman Reigns vs. Luke Harper: This was another physical match between these two; the tag match between the Wyatts against Ambrose & Reigns should be really good. The commentary from Ambrose was pretty good also.

The Return of Dolph Ziggler: The crowd wanted it so bad and they got their wish after Lana slapped Summer Rae then challenged Rusev to fight. Good segment!!

Undertaker/Brock Lesnar Video: I’m really looking forward to this match and the hype behind it is phenomenal.

John Cena/Seth Rollins Contract Signing: Both of them cut pretty good promos and I’m looking forward to their match @ the PPV because the match could go either way. Bringing up Flair’s title reign to Triple H has also gotten things more interesting now also.

Sasha Banks vs. Nikki Bella: This was a pretty good match between the divas and it was surprising seeing Sasha Banks making the champ, tap out!!

Brock Lesnar Homecoming: The crowd exploded for the return of Lesnar seeing he’s from Minnesota. Paul Heyman proceeded to cut an amazing promo and even sung the praises of Lesnar before Undertaker came out to low blow, attack and Tombstone Lesnar to end Monday Night Raw.

Bad:

Rusev vs. Mark Henry: Not this match again!!!

New Day & Los Matadores vs. Primetime Players & Lucha Dragons: Not much of a match. The tag division really misses the Usos right now.

Ryback vs. Miz: The Miz does nothing for me anymore and I think he still has potential.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10- This was another good edition of Monday Night Raw with a lot of build as we head to Summerslam this coming Sunday. The Authority started the night by announcing and hyping all the matches for the Summerslam PPV. The tag match between Cesaro/Orton taking on Owens/Sheamus was pretty good despite a couple of hiccups during the match. The Reigns/Harper was match as pretty good and physical also, with great commentary from Dean Ambrose. It was great seeing the divas having the final match of Monday Night Raw, which Sasha Banks versus Nikki Bella delivered!! It was good seeing the return of Dolph Ziggler and the homecoming of Brock Lesnar was really done. It was crazy hearing Undertaker being booed after his attack on Lesnar. The promos from John Cena and Seth Rollins were really good and their match could go either way.
