Monday Night Raw Review 9/14/2015

Sting Seth Rollins

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw with it taking place in Memphis and the Night of Champions PPV being Sunday. Last weeks edition of Monday Night Raw was pretty good and hopefully things pick up with the PPV on Sunday. Let’s get right into what happened on the season premiere of Monday Night Raw.

Opening Segment: Monday Night Raw started out with the Authority walking to the ring and having the new logo for Connor’s Cure down the aisle. They hyped the future of WWE mentioning Cesaro, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose, Neville, Kevin Owens, Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and them being led by Seth Rollins. They also mentioned Rollins defending both titles at the PPV, Nikki Bella defending her title against Charlotte and announced that Sting will wrestle for the first time ever on Monday Night Raw as he’ll face the Big Show. After making those announcements, the Authority introduced the New Day as they will face the Primetime Players for the tag titles. They managed to get Stephanie and Triple H to dance along with them.

New Day vs. Primetime Players: This was actually a pretty good tag title match with all of them working their butts off. Titus O’Neill got the hot tag towards the end and had the crowd going crazy before turning his attention to Xavier Woods. He ripped part of the instrument from Woods but was hit from behind by Big E and eventually got hit with the finisher by Kingston & Big E for the win.

Sasha Banks vs. Paige: Another good match between these two, which I believe this, will lead to Paige turning heel because Charlotte wasn’t there to help her and Becky Lynch when Team B.A.D attacked them after the won, which Banks won. Is it me or is Sasha Banks the best out of all the Divas?

MizTV with the Wyatt Family: Pretty entertaining MizTV and it was pretty cool that Bray told Miz he’s in harm to start things out. Miz done a pretty good job asking Bray what he want and Bray cut a damn good promo on the Miz. The music of Roman Reigns hit which brought out him & Ambrose, the Miz was thrown out of the ring by Ambrose when they came down. Reigns cut a pretty good promo on them and said they have a partner for Sunday, which I’m eager to know who’s there partner.

John Cena vs. Sheamus: I cringed when this match was announced because we’ve seen them fight so many times, but they really put on a pretty good match. Even though Sheamus lost, I’m wondering if he’s going to cash in his briefcase anytime soon because he’s not in a program.

Sting & John Cena vs. Big Show & Seth Rollins: This is a hit being that this was Sting’s first match ever on Monday Night Raw and also the video packages shown throughout the night highlighting the illustrious career of Sting. The tag match came about when Rollins ran down during the Big Show/Sting match to attack Sting and Cena made the save after Show & Rollins beat down Sting.

Ryback/Kevin Owens Promo: Ryback was already in the ring and he done a really horrible Elvis Presley impersonation and thank God Owens hit the ring when he did. Kevin Owens saved this segment and hopefully he eventually captures the Intercontinental title.

Cosmic Wasteland vs. Neville & Lucha Dragons: Great action, but it lasted about a minute.

Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella: The hype was really good, the match was also good, but that finish was messed up every way possible. How many times have we seen twin magic? This could be part of a bigger storyline, but I’m pretty sure John Cena was very influential on her breaking the record for how long a diva has held the title while erasing A.J. Lee out of the record books.
Cesaro vs. Rusev: Cesaro deserves better!!

Top 5 Happenings on Monday Night Raw:
1) Sting Wrestling
2) Triple H & Stephanie Dancing with New Day
3) The Injustice of Nikki Bella retaining the title
4) Sasha Banks vs. Paige
5) New Day vs. Primetime Players
