Welcome to Week 3 of the NFL season and let me say, that Week 2 was probably the worse week I’ve ever had. My record was 1-5, which is embarrassing and dropped my record in the process down to 5-9. My winning percentage dropped from 50% down to 35.7%, the lowest it has ever been. This week I’ll be predicting another 6 games and hopefully I can go 5-1 to bring my record back up to 50%. Let’s Get Started!!!
This is the Thursday night game between NFC East rivals as the Washington Redskins visit the New York Giants. The Redskins are coming off an impressive win over the Rams and they discovered they have another good back in Matt Jones and Kirk Cousins limiting his turnovers. Can the Redskins get the win and position themselves well in the division to start the season? The Giants have started the season 0-2 and it shouldn’t be that way because they beat themselves due to time management, poor play and fundamental mistakes. I think the Giants will pick up the win on Thursday.
Giants Win 31-21
This is the Sunday Night game as the Denver Broncos head to Detroit to face the Lions who’s still looking for their first victory of the season. The Broncos are coming off a very impressive win last Thursday night in Kansas City. Denver is looking like the team that’s one of the favorites to make the Super Bowl out of the AFC; can they keep it going in Detroit? The Lions have started the season 0-2 and with Matthew Stafford being injured, things could get worse before they get better. Can they pull off the upset at home against the Broncos? I’m going with the Broncos to win this game!!!
Broncos Win 34-27
This is the Monday Night game as the Kansas City Chiefs are looking to rebound from their home loss to Denver in Green Bay against the Packers. The Chiefs are hoping they can somehow stop the best QB in the league and take advantage of having Jamaal Charles on the offensive side of the ball. Can the Chiefs rebound and pull off the upset on Monday Night? The Packers have started the season 2-0 with a couple of very impressive wins over the Seahawks and their rival Bears. I fully expect Rodgers to continue to play well and the Packers to win the game.
Packers Win 30-21
This is a battle between two teams in the NFC with 2-0 records with the Atlanta Falcons visiting the Dallas Cowboys. The Falcons have already defeated two teams from the NFC East, which were the Eagles and Giants. The Falcons look like a much different team under new coach, Dan Quinn with the defense having toughness to it and the offense still has Matt Ryan and Julio Jones. The Cowboys have so many injury issues coming into this game with Tony Romo and Dez Bryant being out for the next couple of months and Jason Witten being questionable for this game. I have to go with the Falcons to pick up the win.
Falcons Win 27-17
Here is a pretty good match-up between two AFC East rivals as the Buffalo Bills visit the Miami Dolphins with both teams revamping their roster. The Bills opened the season with an impressive win over the Colts, but they came up short last week against the Patriots. Can the defense play like they did against the Colts or will the defense that played against the Patriots show up? The Dolphins are coming off a tough loss in Jacksonville last week and their run defense is struggling. Can they rebound against their division foe and play better on both sides of the ball? I think they will and edge out the Bills!!
Dolphins Win 23-20
The San Diego Chargers will remain on the East Coast after losing in Cincinnati to face the Minnesota Vikings. The Chargers are hoping to rebound after being edged out in Cincinnati by the Bengals and they face Adrian Peterson, who’s arguably the best RB in the league. On the other hand, Philip Rivers is one of the most competitive QBs in the league and has been for years. The Vikings rebounded nicely with a good win over their division rival Lions and hoping to build on that victory. Can the Vikings beat a very good Chargers team? I believe the Chargers will pull out the win in the end.
Chargers Win 26-24
