College Football Predictions Week 7

Daddy's Hangout NCAA Football Predictions logo

Welcome to another exciting week of college football as things are starting to heat up throughout college football. This is Week 7 of the college football season and my goal is to have a 70% winning percentage before the end of the season. Last week my record was 5-1, which boosted my record to 21-10 and in the process making my winning percentage jump from 64% to 67.7%. This week I’ll be predicting six games this week and hopefully I can get to my 70% winning percentage goal. Let’s Get Started!!

UCLA Bruins logoStanford Cardinal logoThis is an exceptional match-up on a Thursday night between two Pac-12 rivals as the 18th ranked UCLA Bruins visit the 15th ranked Stanford Cardinal. The Bruins was looked at as one of the teams that could be playoff bound, but was cut short last week against Arizona State. Can the Bruins regroup and pull off the upset against Stanford? Ever since Jim Mora took over at UCLA, the Cardinal have handed him 3 of his 4 total losses. Can the Cardinal pull off this huge conference win to keep the one game lead over California in the North division? I’m going with the Cardinal at home!!

Cardinal Win 27-24

Florida Gators logoLSU Tigers logoThis is the huge match-up of the weekend in a battle of power teams in the SEC as the 8th ranked Florida Gators visit the 6th ranked LSU Tigers. The Florida Gators have had a great season so far, going from unranked to the 8th ranking now. The Gators will be without their starting QB Will Grier because he was suspended a couple of days ago. The LSU Tigers are looking like the old LSU tiger teams when they were contending for championships. The big issue for the Tigers will be the lack of a passing game, which makes this game hard to pick, but I’m going with the Tigers at home.

Tigers Win 20-17

Alabama LogoTexas A&M logoWe’re going to stay in the SEC as we have a top 10 match-up as the 10th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide visit the 9th ranked Texas A&M Aggies. The Crimson Tide was written off earlier in the season when they lost to Ole Miss, but now with another loss by those Rebels the Tide control their own destiny. To fulfill that destiny, they must beat these Aggies and LSU later this year. Texas A&M was picked by some experts at the start of the year to be the best team in the SEC and now they get to prove it. The Aggies are coming off a bye week, which will help them and I think they beat the Tide.

Aggies Win 30-24

Michigan State logoMichigan Wolverines logoWe head up north for a top 15 match-up and a huge rival game as the 7th ranked Michigan State visit the 12th ranked Michigan Wolverines at the Big House. The Spartans have dropped dramatically since they defeated the Ducks earlier in the season. They fell to the 7th spot in the ranking because they barely beat Rutgers last week, so how will they play against the Wolverines? The Michigan Wolverines has boasted the toughest defense in the last month, which includes pitching three shutouts in a row. Can Coach Harbaugh make a bigger statement against the Spartans? I’m going with Michigan!!

Wolverines Win 31-17

Iowa Hawkeyes logoNorthwestern logoWe head to the Big-10 conference for a top 20 match-up as the undefeated 17th ranked Iowa Hawkeyes visit the 20th ranked Northwestern Wildcats. The Hawkeyes are looking great now, whether it’s their offense, but the biggest reason is their tough defense. With a win over the Wildcats, the Hawkeyes would open up a two game lead in the Western division of the conference. Northwestern is coming off being blown out by Michigan last week 38-0 and this could either help motivate them or could damage their confidence throughout the rest of the season. This is a tough game, but I think the Wildcats will pull it out.

Wildcats Win 26-24

USC Trojans logoNotre Dame Fighting Irish logoThis is the final game for me of the weekend and it’s a huge rivalry game as the USC Trojans visit the 14th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Trojans have had a tumultuous week after their coach was fired and the search is on for his predecessor. The Trojans are trying to save their season and could do so with a huge upset of the Fighting Irish at their place. The Fighting Irish are coming off a win against Navy the week after losing to Clemson by a couple of points. Can the Fighting Irish pull off the huge win and put the Trojans in a bigger hole that they’re in? I’m going with the Irish to win this game!!

Fighting Irish Win 34-27

My Top 5:
1) Ohio State Buckeyes
2) TCU Horned Frogs
3) Baylor Bears
4) Utah Utes
5) LSU Tigers
