Hell In a Cell PPV Review

Hell In a Cell Poster

Welcome to the Hell in a Cell PPV and its taking place in Los Angeles and it featured two Hell in a Cell matches with Brock Lesnar facing the Undertaker and Roman Reigns facing Bray Wyatt. Seth Rollins defended his championship against Demon Kane; John Cena has issued a U.S. Open Challenge before he takes his rumored leave for a few months and the New Day defending their tag titles against the Dudley Boyz. Let’s Get Started!!!

John Cena U.S Open Challenge

We started the PPV with John Cena coming out for his U.S. Open Challenge, then we were surprised with the return of Zeb Coulter, but he unleashed a much bigger surprise which was Alberto Del Rio. That was a huge surprised even though he was rumored to be in discussions about a return to the WWE, but I thought he’d be back around the Royal Rumble. This wasn’t their best match, but with Del Rio being the surprise it made up for the match. Del Rio countered the AA with the backstabber followed by a super kick to the head for the win. Winner and New United States Champion: Alberto Del Rio

Match Rating: 3/5- I rated this match higher because the element of surprise and it was great to see Alberto Del Rio return with Zeb Coulter

Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns Hell in a Cell

I was really looking forward to this match and if the match they had a few weeks back on Monday Night Raw was any indication, then I knew this would be a pretty physical match. These two basically beat the hell out of each other using tables, kendo sticks and steel chairs in the match. In the end, Reigns hit the spear to finally win this physical match over Bray. Winner: Roman Reigns

Match Rating: 4/5

New Day vs. Dudley Boyz Hell in a Cell

This has been a pretty entertaining feud between these teams since the triumphant return to WWE by the Dudley Boyz. This was another pretty entertaining match-up between these two teams and with Xavier Woods being out I thought the Dudleyz would capture the championships. While D-Von & Big E brawled on the outside of the ring, Kofi hit Bubba Ray with the Trouble in Paradise for the win. Winners and Still Tag Team Champions: New Day

Match Rating: 3/5

Charlotte vs. Nikki Bella Hell In a Cell

This is a rematch for the Divas Championship Charlotte won from Nikki last month at the Night of Champions PPV. This match was hard hitting with a few pretty sick spots and rumor has it that Charlotte mat have walked away with a broken nose. In the end, Charlotte locks in the Figure Eight Submission move on Nikki to retain her championship. Winner and Still Divas Champion: Charlotte

Match Rating: 3/5

Seth Rollins vs. Kane Hell In a Cell

This match is basically the championship of Seth Rollins against the job of Corporate Kane because if Demon Kane loses this match, Corporate Kane will lose his job as Director of Operations. This was another pretty championship match with Rollins carrying Kane and in the end, we saw Rollins pick up the clean win by hitting the Pedigree for the victory. Winner and Still WWE Champion: Seth Rollins

Match Rating: 3/5

Kevin Owens vs. Ryback Hell In a Cell

When Kevin Owens won the Intercontinental Championship I was had huge expectations that he would take the title to new heights. I’m hoping this is the finally of their feud because it has never taken off. This match just didn’t do anything for me and it seems like they just don’t have chemistry, but in the end Owens picked up the win with the Pop-Up Powerbomb. Winner and Still Intercontinental Champ: Kevin Owens

Match Rating: 2.5/5

Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar Hell In A Cell

This has been built up as the Final Encounter between these two future Hall of Famers and what better place to close out their feud than inside the Cell. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect in this match because Undertaker got a great deal of wear and tear on his body. These two beat the hell out of each other and we actually saw blood being spilled, which made this match even better. In the end, Lesnar hit Undertaker with a low blow and then the F-5 to pick up the tough win over Undertaker. Winner: Brock Lesnar

Match Rating: 4.25/5

Overall Rating: 6.5/10- This PPV was better than expected and the matches of the night definitely went to the Hell in a Cell matches. The first Cell match between Reigns/Wyatt showed that both of them are ready for the main event picture and fighting for the WWE title. In the 2nd match, Undertaker and Lesnar put on an amazing match and the physicality between these two really shocked me in this match. Huge props to Undertaker!! The surprise return of Alberto Del Rio was very well-done and much needed also, because the WWE could use another big time heel.
