Monday Night Raw for 2/1/2016 from Birmingham, Alabama

Brock Lesnar-Dean Ambrose Monday Night Raw

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw with it taking place in Birmingham, Alabama. Since we’re on the Road to WrestleMania, things should pick up a little more as we head to the Fastlane PPV that’s less than three weeks away and Brock Lesnar is scheduled to appear. Let’s see if Monday Night Raw can duplicate what happened last week’s edition because it was a really good edition of Monday Night Raw. Let’s Get Started!!

Opening Segment: Monday Night Raw started out with Paul Heyman & Brock Lesnar coming out to a crazy pop. Paul Heyman proceeded to cut a promo on about the Fastlane PPV main event with the winner facing Triple H in the main event at WrestleMania for the WWE championship. Dean Ambrose came out, got in the face of Brock Lesnar and cut a promo about being taking to Suplex City and being beat up by both Reigns & Lesnar to go to WrestleMania to beat Triple H for the championship and left. Great Segment!! I would love a swerve to see Ambrose win and go to face Triple H @ Mania.

Kalisto vs. Rusev: Reading online, so many people hated this match or either the pairing, but I liked it and love how they have Kalisto overcome the odds to win a match against bigger guys. The match itself was pretty good and I enjoyed it, then Del Rio tried to ambush Kalisto but he escaped.

MizTV with A.J. Styles: This was one of the most entertaining MizTV’s I’ve seen and the Miz was on top of his game. The Miz brought out Styles, compared him to Daniel Bryan being a little guy with a huge following from wrestling in the independents and saying he can’t make it in the WWE without him. In the end, when the crowd was chanting Styles name, Miz got mad then started ripping the crowd and Styles. After a while, Styles got up and beat the Miz up while he retreated.

Brie Bella vs. Charlotte: This match was set-up when Brie was doing an interview in the back talking about her sister having neck surgery and Charlotte came up taking credit for the injury. The match itself was pretty good and Brie picked up the win when she rolled up Charlotte for the win.

Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler: The match was really entertaining from the opening bell with Owens beating down Ziggler and talking noise to him the entire time. After beating him down some more, Owens went for the pop-up powerbomb, but Ziggler reversed it and hit the Zig-Zag for the win.

Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch: Before the match, Banks cut a promo saying she’s tired of taking a backseat to everyone because she’s the best diva in the WWE. She also talked about breaking away from Team B.A.D, which brought out Tamina and Naomi, who looked damn good. As the match went on, Tamina & Naomi tried to get involved by attacking Becky, but Banks stopped them and then they attacked her. Becky Lynch got involved by helping Banks and they eventually fought them off.

New Day vs. Roman Reigns & Dean Ambrose: This was a pretty good, entertaining match between these four. Before the match started, New Day cut another funny promo and they talked about loving the kids while showing a kid doing their dance and wearing a Bullet Club shirt. The match was really good and in the end, Ambrose hit Big E with Dirty Deeds for the win. Brock Lesnar came out when New Day attacked Reigns & Ambrose, but he stood on the outside until Ambrose was in the ring by himself and he hit him with a F-5.

Usos vs. Social Outcasts: The Social Outcast is growing on me, not yet, but slowly they are and I really missed Bo Dallas, but he was away with him brother Bray Wyatt because their granddad is in the hospital. Get Well Soon “Blackjack” Mulligan”!!

Big Show vs. Erick Rowan: Ehhh!!

Titus O’Neil vs. Tyler Breeze: I’m a huge fan of Titus and love he’s receiving a nice push, but I’m still not sold on him yet, but I’m pulling for him because of his work outside the ring. On the other hand, Breeze hasn’t been successful on the main roster whether it’s creative or because he’s in the doghouse.

Overall Rating: 6.5/10: This was another pretty edition of Monday Night Raw, but I would love for them to start announcing more matches for the Fastlane PPV. It’s always great to see Paul Heyman & Brock Lesnar on Monday Night Raw and how good was MizTV with A.J. Styles? The best match of the night had to be the Owens/Ziggler match, but we still saw a lot of action from Kalisto/Rusev, Banks/Lynch, Charlotte/Brie and the main event.

Top 5 Happenings on Monday Night Raw:
1) Return of Brock Lesnar

3) Kevin Owens vs. Dolph Ziggler
4) Team B.A.D Turns on Sasha Banks
5) New Day vs. Reigns & Ambrose
