Monday Night Raw Review for 4/11 from Los Angeles

Monday Night Raw Review

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw as it took place in Los Angeles. Last week, the Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania was really good as expected and hopefully that trend can continue this week with Shane McMahon still running Monday Night Raw due to the response on social media. Let’s see how things turned out!!

Good

Opening Segment: Shane McMahon opened Monday Night Raw thanking the fans for the overwhelming support from last week. He also talked about bringing in new stars and some of the match-ups that will take place on Monday Night Raw. He was interrupted by Kevin Owens and he talked about being robbed of the opportunity to fight for the title, Sami Zayn doesn’t deserve a chance at the title and he hasn’t received a rematch for that title either. Shane said he’ll have a chance to fight for the IC title against Cesaro to determine the new #1 contender for the title.

Kevin Owens vs. Cesaro: This was a hard-fought, physical match-up between the two. The match was really good, as expected and it was good to see Cesaro come out with the victory as Owens will probably still feud with Sami Zayn. Did you see the frog splash by Owens in the match?

New Day Announcing Tournament to Crown New #1 Contender: It’s amazing how far the tag team division has come seeing 8 teams are in the tournament.

Lucha Dragons vs. Dudley Boyz: Kalisto was injured early on in the match, but the match wasn’t all that bad which is probably why the match was so short. After the match, Enzo & Big Cass came out to cut a promo on the Dudley Boyz, which was pretty good and funny.

Roman Reigns/League of Nations/Wyatt Family Segment: Reigns came out to cut a promo about being the guy and having to defend his title against A.J. Styles at the Payback PPV. He was then interrupted by the League of Nations and they eventually attacked Reigns. The Wyatt Family made the save, and then Shane announced the main event between two members of the League of Nations against Bray & Roman.

Charlotte vs. Natalya: This match was amazing with these ladies working their asses off. The match was full of nearfalls, submissions and just being a really physical match. As Natalya was about to win the win with the Sharpshooter, Ric Flair pulled the referee out of the ring as Charlotte was tapping to get her disqualified.

Usos vs. Social Outcasts: This is a hit, just not for the actual match, but Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson much anticipated debut by attacking the Usos. My question is, will they be the Bullet Club, Balor Club or Bulletproof. Either way, they beat the hell out of the Usos!!

A.J. Styles vs. Sami Zayn: Wow!! This was a phenomenal match between these two and if you didn’t see the match, please makes sure to check out the match because it was really good. Even Shane came up to tell them how great the match was while they were backstage!!

Highlight Reel/Ambrose Asylum: It started out with Jericho hosting his Highlight Reel with himself being the guest, but he was interrupted by Ambrose. Ambrose handed Jericho a note from Shane saying the Highlight Reel has been cancelled and it’s now the Ambrose Asylum. After exchanging words with each other, Ambrose hit the Dirty Deeds on Jericho.

Sheamus & Alberto Del Rio vs. Roman Reigns & Bray Wyatt: I know, who would’ve thought that Bray & Roman team with each other, but I liked it. Very good, physical main event and did you hear how the crowd was behind Bray Wyatt?

Bad

Apollo Crews vs. Adam Rose: I think Crews will have a great future, but he was facing Adam Rose.

Overall Rating: 8.5/10- This was another great edition of Monday Night Raw with about three things that I wasn’t feeling, but they weren’t a big deal. The two matches in the tag team tournament weren’t great, but Kalisto got hurt in the match with the Dudleyz and it lead to the exchange between Enzo & Big Cass with the Dudley Boyz. The other match was the Usos facing Social Outcasts, but we got to see the amazing debut from Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. The other was the match featuring Apollo Crews, but I understand the slow build and I think he has huge potential once he gets rolling with a meaningful feud.

Top 5 Happenings from Monday Night Raw:

  1. A.J. Styles vs. Sami Zayn
  2. Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens
  3. Charlotte vs. Natalya
  4. Debut of Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson
