Monday Night Raw from Hartford for 4/25/2016

Monday Night Raw from Hartford

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw as it took place in Hartford, Connecticut, which isn’t too far from WWE Headquarters. With the much anticipated Payback PPV this coming Sunday, hopefully they continue to build towards what should be a pretty good PPV. Last week, was another good edition of Monday Night Raw, but not as good as the previous ones. Let’s see how things played out!!

Good

Opening Segment: Monday Night Raw kicked off with Shane McMahon coming to the ring and shortly thereafter, he was interrupted by Stephanie McMahon. She announced that Mr. McMahon will announce who will run Monday Night Raw from now on at the Payback PPV. Eventually, Shane kicked Stephanie out of the ring and this may be the beginning of the rumored feud between Shane and the Authority.

A.J. Styles vs. Sheamus: This was a really good, physical match-up between these two. These guys beat the hell out of each other and in the end; Gallows & Anderson came out to congratulate Styles on his victory. I definitely smell a swerve @ the PPV!!

New Day/Enzo & Big Cass/Vaudevillians Segment: The segment started with New Day coming out to a thunderous pop to talk about the tag team tournament, but they were interrupted by the Vaudevillians and Enzo & Cass. The Vaudevillians and Enzo & Cass cut promos on each other while the New Day stayed in the ring. Great segment and I’m looking forward to the future of the tag team division.

Anderson & Gallows vs. Usos: This was a really good tag match and they were very impressive in their debut match on Monday Night Raw. After the match, they continue to beat on the Usos and Roman Reigns made the save.

Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn Video Package: This was really well done how they showcased their lifelong friendship that has spanned well over 10 years. This should be a great match at the Payback PPV.

Rusev vs. Sami Zayn: This was a really good match-up between these two and in the end; Zayn reversed the Accolodate from Rusev to roll him up for the pin. After the match, Zayn was attacked from behind as he was walking up the ramp.

Chris Jericho/Dean Ambrose Segment: This was a pretty good segment as they ripped each other before Ambrose attacked Jericho. In the end, Jericho got the better of Ambrose as he put him in the Walls of Jericho on the announce table.

Chyna Tribute: First of all, rest in peace to Chyna and it was such a tragedy how things played out in her life ever since she left the WWE. This was a pretty good tribute video and it brought back memories seeing her with DX, Eddie Guerrero, taking part in the Royal Rumble and winning the IC title. #RIPChyna

Roman Reigns vs. Alberto Del Rio: The match was pretty good and Reigns picked up the win, but Anderson & Gallows attacked Reigns after the match, but Styles stopped from attacking him more but was met with a Superman Punch. Reigns turned his attention to Gallows & Anderson, but he was eventually met with the Phenomenal Elbow from Styles to close out Monday Night Raw.

Bad

Apollo Crews vs. Stardust: I really wish they would do something with Stardust and they need to find a feud for Apollo Crews also.

Baron Corbin vs. Damien Sandow: The match never took place because Ziggler attacked Corbin from behind like he’s done to Ziggler. Just hate to see how Sandow has been treated because he deserve better.

Miz/Cesaro Segment: I’m not feeling Miz trying to do all those Hollywood impersonations and even though I love seeing Maryse back, Miz was better without her.

Overall Rating: 7/10- This was another good edition of Monday Night Raw with Payback this Sunday. The only things I wasn’t feeling was the misusage of Damien Sandow, Stardust and not having a meaningful feud for Apollo Crews, plus I don’t like how Miz is trying his Hollywood stuff either.

  3. Chyna Video Package
  4. Kevin Owens/Sami Zayn Package
