Monday Night Raw from Greensboro for 5/16/2016

Monday Night Raw from Greensboro

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw with it taking place in Greensboro, NC. This is the final Monday Night Raw before the Extreme Rules PPV this Sunday and hopefully things pick up a little more. Last week, Monday Night Raw was alright and with the some of their top guys like John Cena, Seth Rollins, Bray Wyatt & Randy Orton returning soon, this are starting to heat up.

Opening Segment: Monday Night Raw started off with A.J. Styles coming to the ring to cut a promo, but he was interrupted by Roman Reigns. Reigns & Styles cut promos on each other until Gallows & Anderson made their way down the aisle. In the ring, the Usos came to Reigns side and then Reigns knocked Styles out of the ring with a punch.

Cesaro & Miz vs. Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens: The match started out with Cesaro against Sami Zayn, but Owens & Miz got into it on the outside, which resulted in the match being called. Shane came out to make a tag match, but Stephanie followed him and made this match, which was good and increased anticipation for the Fatal 4-way championship match.

Ambrose/Jericho Segment: These two have stepped their games up for this feud with them pulling out all the stops. At the end, Ambrose revealed to Jericho they would face each other in the first-ever Asylum match.

New Day/Vaudevillians: New Day came out to a huge pop and cut another really good promo, and then they revealed behind the tarp in the ring a time machine. It was a pretty funny skit and in the end, the Vaudevillians attacked them from behind. Looking forward to their match @ the PPV!!

Gallows & Anderson vs. Usos: What a match and this feud have been amazing!!! My only gripe is having Gallows & Anderson lose so damn much, but after the match Gallows knocked Reigns into Styles and the fight broke out. Styles was about to hit Reigns with the chair, but Roman caught him with a right hand and then hit Styles with the chair. Reigns hit the Superman Punch on Gallows & Anderson, but Styles caught him with some crazy chair shots and then he got caught with the Styles Clash onto the chair to finish the segment.

Big Cass vs. D-Von Dudley: He basically squashed him and his push continues!!

Charlotte/Natalya Contract Signing: First off, it was great seeing the ladies occupy the main event spot on Monday Night Raw even though it was just a contract signing. After cutting promos on each other, Charlotte went to sign the contract she was pissed because if Ric Flair get involved, show up or even make his presence, she forfeits the title. In the end, Stephanie slapped Flair and then Charlotte approached Stephanie, but was met by Natalya and the Sharpshooter to end Monday Night Raw from Greensboro.

The Shining Stars vs. 2 Local Jobbers: No comment!!

Golden Truth vs. Tyler Breeze & Fandango: I thought the Golden Truth team had potential, but I don’t know about it now.

Dana Brooke vs. Becky Lynch: I’m actually a fan of Dana Brooke and think she has huge potential on the main roster. The match with Becky Lynch wasn’t too good, but I’m looking forward to seeing how she fares on the main roster.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Kalisto: What are they doing with Del Rio? I’m not really feeling this feud between Rusev & Kalisto, I’m thinking Rusev will take the title from Kalisto.

Overall Rating: 6/10- I’d rate this Monday Night Raw from Greensboro about the same as the previous weeks’ edition. The things I didn’t like about Monday Night Raw was the re-debut of the Shining Stars, the Golden Truth tag team match, what they’re doing with Alberto Del Rio and the debut singles match with Dana Brooke.

Top 5 Happenings on Monday Night Raw from Greensboro:

  1. The Continued Feud between the Family & The Club
  2. The IC title Picture
  3. Women’s Title Contract Signing
  4. New Day/Vaudevillians
  5. Continued Push of Big Cass
