Monday Night Raw Review from New Orleans

Monday Night Raw New Orleans

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw with it taking place in New Orleans. With the Money in the Bank PPV this coming Sunday, hopefully we continue to have great build towards the PPV. Last week was another good edition of Monday Night Raw and hopefully they continue with that trend. It was great to see the WWE kick off Monday Night Raw with a tribute to the tragedy that happened in Orlando. With that being said, let’s see how things turned out!!

Good

Opening Segment: Monday Night Raw started out with the New Day cutting a pretty good promo before they were interrupted by Big Cass & Enzo. After going back & forth with each other, they were interrupted by the Vaudevillians and Gallows & Anderson. After everyone was finished, there was an 8-man tag match following the commercial break.

Vaudevillians and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson vs. New Day, Enzo & Big Cass: Things started out slow, but it picked up steam pretty quickly and in the end, Anderson & Gallows hit their finisher on Kofi Kingston to pick up the win.

Rusev Attacking Titus O’Neil: Titus was coming out for his match; Rusev attacked him from behind and beat the hell out of him, leaving him laid out. I’m digging the more aggressive Rusev!!

Ambrose Asylum: It was great seeing some of the footage of the history of the Shield leading up to the Ambrose Asylum. The segment started with them playing around, but when things got serious it turned into a really good segment and I’m looking forward to their match at the PPV. Things got really interesting when Ambrose asked the crowd who would walk out of the PPV as the champion Reigns or Rollins or maybe it would be him after getting the briefcase. Rollins threw Ambrose into Reigns and they all began to fight and after Reigns hit Rollins with the Superman Punch, but was hit with Dirty Deeds from Ambrose to finish the segment.

Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro: What an awesome match between these two as expected. If you haven’t seen their matches when Cesaro went to NXT, trust me watch them and thank me later.

A.J. Styles/John Cena Contract Signing: Damn this was one hard hitting contract signing where they went at each other with the promos. You have to watch it for yourself to see what I’m talking about.

Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho: These two are very familiar with each other and this was another pretty good match. After Ambrose picked up the win, all 6 men involved in the Money in the Bank ladder match fought each other. After Zayn took out all men on the outside, Jericho grabbed a ladder and got the briefcase to end Monday Night Raw.

Bad

Sheamus vs. Zack Ryder: This match wasn’t anything special, but it was nice to see Apollo Crews make the save when Sheamus beat up Ryder after the match.

Lucha Dragons vs. Kevin Owens & Alberto Del Rio: This match was made when Owens & Del Rio got into it because Owens was snitching on Alberto because he arrived late to Monday Night Raw because Owens had him detained at the airport. I wish they would push the Lucha Dragons again!!

Overall Rating: 7.5/10- This was the go-home show and it was another really impressive edition of Monday Night Raw. My only gripes were the Sheamus/Ryder match along with the match between the Lucha Dragons against Del Rio & Owens.
