Monday Night Raw Review from Phoenix

Monday Night Raw Review from Phoenix

Welcome to another edition of Monday Night Raw with it taking place in Phoenix one night after the Money in the Bank PPV, which was really good. With so much happening at the PPV, Monday Night Raw was sure to be pretty exciting with the draft coming up and the Battleground PPV. Last week was another action-packed Monday Night Raw, so let’s see how things developed on this edition of Monday Night Raw.

Good

Opening Segment: Monday Night Raw kicked off showing the new WWE champion, Dean Ambrose getting out of the taxi and he started things off by coming to the ring. The crowd was going crazy and chanting, you deserve it and he was cutting a promo until Roman Reigns came down. Reigns congratulated him on winning the title and asked him how it felt to cash in on Rollins and Ambrose said he would’ve cashed it in on Reigns too. The fans was chanting, you can’t wrestle to Reigns and he told them to sit down, shut up and drink there beer. When Reigns asked for his rematch, the music of Rollins hit and he said he deserved the rematch because the title was stolen from him. When Reigns & Rollins got into each other faces, the music of Shane McMahon hit and he made his way to the top of the aisle. Shane announced that Reigns will face Rollins in the main event with the winner becoming the new #1 contender for the WWE championship.

Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens: I know these guys had to be pretty banged up after being involved in the Money in the Bank ladder match. As far as the match, they still delivered a good match despite them being hurt. In the end, Zayn rolled Owens up for the win and afterwards, Owens attacked Zayn in the aisle and they fought until the referees separated them. When Monday Night Raw came back from commercial break, they were still fighting in the backstage area.

Enzo & Big Cass vs. Vaudevillians: Enzo & Big Cass came out to a huge pop and they cut a promo about Big Johnny before hitting the ring. The match wasn’t that long and you could call it a squash with Enzo & Big Cass picking up the quick victory.

A.J. Styles/John Cena Segment: Styles started the segment saying he didn’t want the Club to interfere in his match with Cena and he apologized to Cena. He asked for the Club to come out to apologize to Cena also, which they did and that brought out Cena. He and Styles cut promos on each other, and then the match between Cena and Karl Anderson was made.

Paige vs. Charlotte: The match wasn’t bad or good, but it was average and with the distraction from Dana Brooke, Charlotte picked up the win. After the match, they attacked Paige, but Sasha Banks returned with a thunderous ovation to make the save.

Return of the Wyatt Family: It was nice to see the Wyatt Family and the crowd gave them a thunderous ovation. As Bray was cutting a promo, he was interrupted by the New Day who came out to cut a promo on the Wyatt Family.

Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns: This was another solid outing from these and the crowd was definitely into it. We kind of knew that somehow, someway that the finish would be either a double DQ or double countout to set up a triple threat match between the former Shield members. Ambrose finished the segment by hitting Dirty Deeds on Roman Reigns before leaving. It’s unfortunate that Reigns has been suspended for 30 days for violating the WWE Wellness Policy, but he should be back in time for the Battleground PPV.

Bad

John Cena vs. Karl Anderson: This was basically a squash match with Cena getting all the offense. Styles & Gallows attacked Cena after he hit the AA and was about to pin Anderson. I don’t like the idea of Cena squashing any member of the Club.

Baron Corbin vs. Zack Ryder: This wasn’t a very exciting match, but I still think Corbin has a bright future he just need a really good feud.

Overall Rating: 7.5/10- The trend continues with another really good edition of Monday Night Raw. My only gripes were the Corbin/Ryder match and the squash of Karl Anderson, which lead to a beat down from The Club on Cena.
