Being able to have your own space in the home is essential, especially when most of the time you find yourself overwhelmed with various responsibilities. This isn’t a reflection on your family or other commitments but is rather a valuable part of recuperating and relaxing so you can give your all to other areas of your life. You have probably heard the term “man cave”, and it can sometimes have macho overtones with people envisioning a dark room filled with sports memorabilia and a giant TV. Of course, if that’s the type of thing you like, that’s fine, but your man cave doesn’t have to have a stereotypical bachelor pad vibe.
I’ve been taking a look at the variety of things I would deem essential in my own personal man cave and although they are a reflection of my own tastes, I also think there are many men out there who could benefit from some of my ideas.
Online sports and casino games, music and suitable food and drinks are just some of the things I think are non-negotiable when it comes to creating the perfect man cave. Why not take a look at my suggestions and let me know what you think?
I know of some men that have installed actual arcade game machines in their homes and although this can be pretty cool, it can also be a budget busting choice of entertainment. An alternative to this is to set up a mini-casino in your man cave and invite your buddies over for some chill out time. Another cost effective version of this would be to play online games streamed from your tablet or phone via a smart TV. A night in playing one of the latest slots games at Coral is a great excuse to get all the guys over, and as there are so many games to choose from on their site, everyone will be happy, no matter what kind of game they are into.
Anyone who knows me, or who has read my blog knows how much I love music, and a man cave isn’t a man cave without one heck of a sound system. There is so much scope here depending on your style – you could go retro with an old-fashioned record player, or you could embrace the technological age in which we live with a wireless Hi-Fi. Whatever option you choose, just make sure you have all your favorite tracks on CD, record, or device, so when you retreat to your man cave you are all set to choose one to suit your mood.
Make it Convenient
Don’t treat your man cave like a hotel room; this is your space. There is no point in having a mini bar and just a few snacks when what you really need is a generously sized fridge stocked with beers and a whole cupboard full of your favorite food. You could even go the whole hog and dedicate a corner of the room to a bar area, which would certainly impress your friends the next time they come over to watch a big game.
As with any area of the home that is not suitable for children due to there being alcohol or games suitable only for adults present, ensure the family is aware that this is a child-free zone, and take any necessary precautions including the installation of child locks, so as to prevent any accidents.
