Daddy’s Hangout College Football Predictions for 12th Week

Daddy's Hangout NCAA Football Predictions logo

Welcome to the 12th week of the college football season as things are coming to an end. Last week my record was 3-2, which dropped my overall record to 42-19. My overall winning percentage drops from 69.6% to 68.9% in the process. If you missed anything last weekend, then you know there was plenty of upsets that shook up the playoff picture. Clemson, Michigan and Washington, who were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th, were upset. If that wasn’t enough, the 9th ranked Auburn Tigers also fell victim to the upset bug. So with the third college football playoffs rankings being released, there are a few changes. This week will be a light weekend as I’ll only predict four games as the following week should be exciting. Let’s Get Started!!!

Louisville College logoHouston Cougars logo NCAA College FootballThis will be the Thursday night game, which is the first I’ve featured in a long time. We have a battle between two exciting QBs as the 3rd ranked Louisville Cardinal visit the Houston Cougars. At the beginning of the season, this game was circled on my calendar especially after the Cougar manhandled Oklahoma in the first game. After winning their first five games, Houston lost two of three and this game lost its appeal. For me though, the battle between Lamar Jackson and Greg Ward Jr. will be fun to watch as they’re both exciting QBs who can make plays. This game could produce some great moments and will be very competitive because Tom Herman shows up in big games. In a close game, I think Louisville will escape with the win.

Louisville Win 34-31

Oklahoma Sooners Logo CollegeWest Virginia logo CollegeThis should be the top game of the week, especially if you like offense. We have the 8th ranked Oklahoma Sooners visiting the 10th ranked West Virginia Mountaineers in what should be a shootout. The Sooners started the season losing two of their first three games, but have won seven straight ever since. Oklahoma is looking for the win to set up a possible Big 12 championship match against Oklahoma State in two weeks. West Virginia comes into this game with only one loss and they also have their eye on the conference championship. The winner of this game still has an outside shot at the playoffs and I’m going with Oklahoma on the road.

Oklahoma Win 45-35

Washington State Cougars logoColorado Buffaloes NCAA College logoWe head out west to the Pac-12 Conference in what could be a championship preview. The 20th ranked Washington State Cougars visits the 12th ranked Colorado Buffaloes in a battle of division leaders. After losing their first two games of the season, the Cougars have won 8 consecutive games. They are the only Pac-12 team that’s undefeated with a showdown with their rival, Washington Huskies in a week. Colorado has a one game lead over the red-hot Trojans, who is the only team that beat them in the conference. They need to beat the Cougars and Utah to advance to the title game or have the Trojans lose. I’m going with the Buffaloes to win this one at home.

Colorado Win 38-31

Florida Gators logo NCAA CollegeLSU Tigers logo CollegeThe final game of the weekend will be out of the SEC with major implications. The 23rd ranked Florida Gators will visit the 16th ranked LSU Tigers in a game that was cancelled earlier in the season. The Florida Gators can wrap up the SEC East with a win over the Tigers. With their offense struggling for the last two games, they will have a hard time against the Tigers defense. On the other hand, LSU is coming off an impressive performance against Arkansas with a 2-headed monster at the RB position. This should be a physical game and I think the RBs for LSU will be the difference and they’ll win.

LSU Win 30-20
