4 Ways to Making The Most of Father & Son Time

When it comes to enjoying the summer, there are few things better than spending some time in the park with your son. This is a classic pastime for many fathers and sons, and it is something of a rite of passage when your child is growing up. But sometimes you might find yourself at a loss as to what to do, or how to make the most of the time. In this article, we are going to attempt to answer that question, by looking at some of the ways that you can spend time with your son in the park. Let’s have a look at some of the best.

Father & Son Time

Kite Flying

We’ll start with something of a classic. If you have not been kite flying for a long time, you might well be out of practice, but the fact remains that it is a terrific way to spend an afternoon, and it can be a lot more fun than you might even remember. What’s more, it is the kind of activity that is much more enjoyable with your son in tow, particularly if they have never flown a kite before. Learning the ropes (literally) is part of the fun, and you’ll find that it works as a powerful bonding session too.

Quadcopter Flying

In the modern age, it’s not just kites that you can fly. These days, you will find many people at the local park flying quadcopters too. Also known as drones, these metallic flying pieces of machinery are a lot of fun to fly together, much as with kite-flying. What’s more, with a drone you can also record the flight itself, giving you and your son something to look back over at the end. If you are unsure how to fly a quadcopter, you’ll be pleased to hear that it is relatively straightforward – although it does take a little practice to begin with, you are certain to pick up the knack together.

Fishing

For a much more classic father and son time, why not try fishing? If you have never been fishing before, then you might well be at a loss as to where to start. But with a little practice, you can soon find yourself getting into well. This can be a surprisingly good bonding session with your son, and it is the kind of pastime that tends to link you to your cultural past as well. Going fishing is something that is bound to make you smile and really enjoy the summer time together, so this is worth thinking about.

Football

Finally, if you want to go for something a little more active, why not think about getting into a sport with your son? You could play a little football together – or really any sport that you can think of. This is a powerful bonding type for most men with their sons, so it is worth it for that alone. But that doesn’t mean that you need to do it at the exclusion of all else – if you like, this can be an all-family affair.
