4 Ways to Stay Cool in Georgia This Summer

This post was brought to you by RaceTrac and I’m a RaceTrac Ambassador, I received compensation to write about this post but all opinions expressed are my own.

Stay Cool in Georgia

Summer is finally here in Georgia and let’s just say, it’s freakin’ hot outside. I know, you’re probably thinking, calm down because it’s only going to get worse. I’ll be the first to tell you that I love being outside, but when summertime rolls around, now that’s a totally different story. Despite the hot weather I’ll always be outside on the grill, I mean I can run back and forth into the house. My kids are in the same category as they won’t go outside for any extended amount of time. I’m sure my fellow Georgians face the same dilemma when it comes to dealing with the heat. Below are 4 ways to beat the heat while having fun with your loved ones.

Go Swimming

One of the better ways to beat the heat is by heading to the swimming pool. We all know, it’s still hot outside and Georgia got that sticky weather, the pool is still a wonderful place to be. There’s nothing like diving into a cool swimming pool to beat the heat. As a family, we tend to head to the pool around 2 to 3 times a week and that depends on how much rain we get in Georgia.

Head to Swirl World

As we all know, RaceTrac is my go-to place for a little bit of everything. Whether it’s tailgate items, breakfast, sodas or just to pick up something when I get off in the mornings, RaceTrac is the place. My kids love the Swirl’s from RaceTrac as they have more than 40 toppings to choose from. With so many toppings to choose from, the possibilities are endless to how you can create your swirl. When you head to RaceTrac, visit Swirl World, which is RaceTrac’s own line of frozen yogurt, ice cream and Italian ice. To sweeten the deal, RaceTrac gives you the choice of putting your frozen treat in a cup, waffle cone or sugar cone. For me, I love to dress my frozen treat with fruit and skittles, while my kids put as much as possible on theirs.

Stay in the House

Some days are so hot and humid to the point you don’t even like looking outside. For those days, I tend to stay in the house to watch some TV or play with my dog. Most of the time on those extremely hot days, we binge watch things we saved on DVR.

Many places to Visit in Georgia

Living in Georgia, there are many places you can visit to beat the heat. One of the favorite places to visit is the Georgia Aquarium because we love seeing the various species that live in the water. While you’re at the Georgia Aquarium, you should visit the Coca-Cola Headquarters. If you’re a fan of Coca-Cola like we are, then you’ll enjoy tasting the assorted flavors of the product. If we don’t want to play in our neighborhood swimming pool, we like to go to Lake Lanier Islands also. This is a beautiful water park located in Gwinnett County, which is right above Atlanta.
