Last night my 6-game winning streak came to an end when Memphis beat the Rockets on the road. In that game, we saw James Harden and Mario Chalmers almost come to blows after getting tangled up. LaMarcus Aldridge continues to play inspired ball as he lead San Antonio to the win over Toronto. In the third game of my predictions, Giannis Antetokounmpo continues his hot start by putting up 32 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists to lead Milwaukee over Charlotte. In that game, Dwight Howard managed to grab 22 rebounds, but finished with 8 points as he missed all nine free throws he attempted. My record from yesterday was 2-1 and my overall record is 9-3 as my winning percentage drop from 77.8 to 75%. I’ll be only predicting two games for tonight, so let’s get started!!
This matchup can be seen on NBATV as the New Orleans Pelicans visit Portland to face the Trailblazers. Through three games, DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis combine average is 60 points and 28.4 rebounds a game. New Orleans comes into this game with a 1-2 record as they really need help from the guard position. Rajon Rondo has a way to go before he can return from injury and if I were management, I’d try to trade for Eric Bledsoe. Cousins and Davis have dominated in the frontcourt, Damien Lilard and C.J. McCollum are averaging over 50 points a game. Portland head into this game with a 2-1 record and I think their guard play will lead them to the win over New Orleans.
Trailblazers Win 114-109
This game will take place in Los Angeles as the Clippers host the Utah Jazz. Despite losing Gordon Hayward to free agency, Utah has come out like a team with something to prove. Ricky Rubio has been a nice addition to the Jazz and Rudy Gobert picked up where he left off from a year ago. They have 5 guys averaging at least 13 points a game and that doesn’t include Joe Johnson who can get hot at any given time. Can they head to Los Angeles and pick up the victory over the Clippers? Many wrote the Clippers off when Chris Paul was traded to Houston, but don’t tell them that. Sure, it has only been two games, but this team is looking good. Blake is averaging 29 and 10, plus Jordan is pulling down almost 19 boards a game to go along with the toughness of Patrick Beverly, Clippers should be 3-0 after this one.
Clippers Win 115-105
