Daddy’s Hangout Week 10 College Football Predictions

Week 9 College Football

Welcome to Week 10 of the college football season and the first weekend of the month of November. First off, remember this weekend to set your clocks back an hour or just let your devices do it themselves. My record from last week was 4-1, which raises my overall record to 26-11. My winning percentage jumps from 68.8 to 70.3% in the process. The big game last week saw Ohio State mount a huge comeback to beat then 2nd ranked Penn State in a classic game. In the first college playoff rankings, we saw Georgia, Alabama, Notre Dame and Clemson round out the top 4. This weekend is a full slate of games that will impact next weekend’s rankings. This weekend I’ll be predicting an unprecedented 10 games, which will have a lot to say about my season. Let’s Get Started!!!

Week 9 College Football Week 9 College FootballWe kick things off in Oklahoma and the Big-12 conference where this is probably a playoff elimination game. The 5th ranked Oklahoma Sooners will travel to face the 11th ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys. Oklahoma controls their own destiny on the road to the playoffs. The Sooners need to win this game before heading home to face the 8th ranked TCU Horned Frogs. Can Baker Mayfield lead the Sooners to the win and possibly help his Heisman campaign? While many people have talked about Sam Darnold as the best QB in the country, my money has been on Mason Randolph. Just like Baker Mayfield, Randolph is in the running for the Heisman also. This should be an exciting game and I think the Cowboys will find a way to win this game.

Oklahoma State Win 41-38

Week 9 College FootballWeek 9 College FootballWe head to the SEC for one of the most heated rivalries over the last 10 years. The 19th ranked LSU Tigers will travel to Tuscaloosa to face the 2nd ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Despite all the struggles earlier in the season, LSU is in prime position to ruin the proposed Georgia/Alabama title game. If LSU were to go to Alabama and pull off the upset, they’ll be tied with Alabama and Auburn, but own the tiebreaker. For Alabama, they’ll come into this game with a sour taste in their mouth. After the first college playoff ranking, they didn’t take home the top spot and they could anger them. Will the Tide deliver a beat-down of the Tigers or will this be the usual close game? I’m going with the Tide to win in a hard-hitting game.

Alabama Win 27-17

Week 9 College FootballWeek 9 College FootballSpeaking of National Playoffs elimination games, this one could be one also. The 13th ranked Virginia Tech Hokies will travel to Miami and face the 10th ranked Hurricanes. The Hokies only have one loss this year and that came against Clemson. Since both of these teams are in the Coastal Division of the ACC, this could be to see who goes to the championship game. Can Virginia Tech head to Miami and hand the Hurricanes their first loss? The reason why the Hurricanes is ranked 10th in the playoff ranking is because they have won their last four games by a combined 18 points. Malik Rosier will have to bring his A game against this tough Hokie defense, but will he? I’m going with the Hurricanes to escape with the win against Virginia Tech.

Miami Win 24-23

Week 9 College FootballWeek 9 College FootballWe stay in ACC country as the 4th ranked Clemson Tigers travel to Raleigh to face the 20th ranked N.C. State Wolfpack. Just like the Hokies/Hurricanes game, this will be for the division championship. Kelly Bryant should be his healthiest as he has in the past few weeks. This could be their toughest match-up until they reach possibly reach the ACC championship game. Will the Tigers defense continue their dominance and lead Clemson to the win? The Wolfpack is coming off a disastrous game in South Bend last week and they’re hoping to redeem themselves. They could be playing for the right to play in the ACC title and spoil the playoff chances of Clemson. I’m going with the Tigers to handle their business against the Wolfpack.

Clemson Win 31-21

Week 9 College FootballWeek 9 College FootballWe head up north to the Big-10 conference as the 7th ranked Penn State Nittany Lions travel to face the 24th ranked Michigan State Spartans. As we all know, Penn State is coming off that heartbreaking loss at Ohio State after leading the entire game. After returning the opening kickoff of the game, Saquon Barkley was held in check for the most part. With a few more weeks left in the season, Penn State still have an outside shot at the playoff. For Michigan State, they just lost at Northwestern last week ending their 4-game winning streak. Michigan State can ruin the playoff chances for Penn State and Ohio State in consecutive weeks by winning both games. I don’t see it happening as I’m thinking the Nittany Lions rebound to beat the Spartans.

Penn State Win 30-20

Week 9 College FootballWeek 9 College FootballWe head to the west coast as the 22nd ranked Arizona Wildcats facing the 17th ranked USC Trojans. This game is for control on the Pac-12 South as both teams have one loss in the conference. Arizona is enjoying a 4-game winning streak with wins over UCLA and Washington State. Arizona’s offense is sensational while piling up 338 yards rushing a game and putting up 45 points a game, which ranks 3rd in the nation. Can they beat the Trojans on the road? USC rebounded nicely after being demolished by Notre Dame with a win over Arizona State. Many have Sam Darnold pegged as the top pick in next year’s draft, but I don’t see it as he’s nearing the end of the season. I’m picking Darnold and the Trojans to walk away with the win and lead in the Pac-12 South.

USC Win 45-31

Week 9 College FootballWeek 9 College FootballThis is the final game that puts ranked teams against each other. 21st ranked Stanford will travel to up the coast to battle the 25th ranked Washington State Cougars. Stanford running back Bryce Love is one of the names mentioned in the Heisman race. He missed the last game and the Cardinal offense struggled against Oregon State. Stanford is hoping to hold off the Cougars to set up a huge game for the Pac-12 North against Washington. The Cougars have lost two of their last three games heading into this game. Luke Falk was benched last week, but he’ll be back under center to try to break the Pac-12 passing mark as he’s 136 yards away. I’m going with Stanford to pick up the win in a tough game against the Cougars.

Stanford Win 34-27

Week 9 College FootballWeek 9 College FootballWe head to my home-state as the Georgia Bulldogs play their first game as the top team against South Carolina. For me, the Bulldogs have been the best team in the country as I’ve been impressed by the defense. Last week, they beat the hell out of their rivals in Florida by beating them 42-7. It’s crazy to think that Georgia can throw four different RBs at teams anytime of the game. Nick Chubb just became the 5th leading rusher in SEC history in the process. South Carolina would love nothing to do but beat their rival and put a dent in their title hopes. With this being a rival game, this could be a better game than expected, but I don’t see it and Georgia should win.

Georgia Win 42-20

Week 9 College FootballWeek 9 College FootballThe Ohio State Buckeyes are coming off a huge win against Penn State last week. This week the 6th ranked Ohio State will travel to Iowa to face the Hawkeyes. Ohio State still have a chance to make the playoffs, but they MUST win out. J.T. Barrett had one of the best QB performances of the season, will he continue his hot hand on the road? Can the Buckeyes walk away with the victory in the tough environment? Two of Iowa’s losses have come against Penn State and Michigan State by a total of 9 points. The offense has looked awful for most of the year, but the defense has been one of the better thus far. Can they do enough and upset the Buckeyes to spoil their championship ambitions? Ohio State will emerge late to win this game.

Ohio State Win 31-21

Week 9 College FootballWeek 9 College FootballThe final game will take place in Morgantown as the West Virginia Mountaineers host the 15th ranked Iowa State Cyclones. Iowa State is the most surprising team in the country as they ride a 4-game winning streak. During that streak, they beat the Sooners on the road and upset the TCU Horned Frogs. The Cyclones defense will be tested against West Virginia, but they have only given up 20 points in their last three games. Can they continue their surprising season? West Virginia is coming off a tough home loss against Oklahoma State where they gave up 50 points. The offense is never the issue with the Mountaineers as they ranked 5th in passing and 7th in scoring. I’m riding with the Cyclones to continue their magical season.

Iowa State Win 31-30
