Daddy’s Hangout 2018 National Championship Game Prediction

2018 National Championship Game

After an exciting season in college football, we have finally arrived at the championship game. Many felt Oklahoma and Clemson would be meeting in this game. If you viewed my last predictions, then you know that I’m guilty of picking those two to advance also. In sports, we’ve all heard that a good defense will beat a great offense and it’s true. In the first game, Georgia used a stout and aggressive defense to suffocate the Oklahoma offense in the second half. Alabama came out from the start to smother the high-powered offense of the Clemson Tigers in the second game. Now we have an All-SEC championship game and it should be as physical as imaginable. With my 0-4 record from last week, my overall mark drops to 51-23, which dropped my winning percentage from 72.9 to 68.9%.

2018 National Championship Game Prediction2018 National Championship Game PredictionWe have the student facing the teacher for the championship. Kirby Smart spent most of his coaching career being mentored by Nick Saban. Two years ago, Kirby Smart took the job to return to his alma mater. Since then, Kirby Smart has turned things around for the Bulldog program. Georgia also got the top-ranked recruiting class for the upcoming year, so he’s setting up Georgia for a dominant run. Can the Bulldogs capture their first championship since 1980? Alabama is back in familiar territory and that’s playing for another championship. I’ll be honest, I’ve stated multiple times this year that the defense hasn’t looked like the previous dominant Bama defenses. That all changed with their performance against Clemson in the Sugar Bowl. The offense will have to play much better against this Bulldog team as they showed they can score with the best of them.

On offense, I’m going with the Georgia as they can toss out 4 RBs who can take it to the house. Jake Fromm has showed that he’s as cool as it gets when it comes to pressure. Jalen Hurts doesn’t turn the ball over, but he can be inaccurate at times. The defenses for both teams are pretty much even, but I’ll give the Tide the slight advantage based off their playoff performance. The special teams is a toss up for me as both have guys that can take it all the way. The kicking game for both teams are so-so, but I’ll give a slight nod to Georgia on this one and it could be a factor in this game. This is a very tough game for me to predict, but I’ll never pick against Alabama and Nick Saban in a championship game.

Alabama Win 24-23
