6 Video Games You Play With Your Kids

When you have kids, it can sometimes be hard to know how to spend time with them. However, if you enjoy playing video games, then you can find plenty of kid-friendly games that the whole family can enjoy. This can be a great way to enjoy a game and spend time with your kids. With that in mind, here are several video games that you can play with your kids.

Rocket League

Rocket League is what you get when you combine cars and soccer. The result is a hilarious fun game of trying to ram an over-sized ball into a goal. The game has four player split-screen, so if you have enough controllers then plenty of people can get in on the action. It has plenty of different modes and once you get used to the controls of moving and hitting the ball you can have a lot of fun trying to beat your kids. However, you don’t need to be adversaries. Instead, you can be on the same team and try to score goals against bots. This is great for kids who might not understand the controls or when you are trying to introduce it to them. They will inevitably become good enough that they want to start being you though. Rocket League is available on both PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

The Lego Games

The Lego games come in many shapes and sizes. There are Lego games for Harry Potter, Batman, Marvel Superheroes, Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, and so many other franchises. If your kids are even remotely interested in any of these settings, then they will love playing a Lego game with their favorite characters. You can play cooperatively and travel through the each game’s story mode. You can help each other collect studs, defeat enemies and solve puzzles. Each of the Lego games is simple enough that you and your kids will not have any trouble completing them, but they have enough extra hidden things to find that each time you play it you will see something new. There is so much to do in each game that it will keep you all playing for ages. If you love Lego and any of those film franchises, then you will love playing a Lego game. There are a lot of Lego games and they are available on a range of consoles.

Skylanders

Skylanders is one of those games where you need to buy small figures to unlock the various characters in the game. Each disced copy of the game comes with a unique story mode and levels, but collecting the figures, customizing them and then playing as your favorites is the really attractive thing about Skylanders. If you and your kids do get into Skylanders it is worth remembering that it can be expensive when compared to normal video games as in order to unlock everything you will need to buy a lot of figures. Fortunately, the figures all look great and are fully painted. They can make for a nice display and then you can put your favorites into the game. The game-play is simple enough that your kids can enjoy it but complicated enough that adults can still have fun as well. Unpacking and trying a new Skylanders figure can be a great weekly or monthly routine for you and your kids.

Disney Infinity

Disney Infinity is similar to Skylanders in that it requires you to collect figures in order to put characters into the game, but with the twist that it includes figures and characters for the various Disney films. The original game included characters from traditional Disney and Pixar films, the second added Marvel characters and the third added Star War. If you and your kids enjoy and of these things, then it can be a better choice than Skylanders and a great collectible game to get involved with. There won’t be any more games released in the Disney Infinity line, so you might be able to get a lot of the figures and games second hand at a much cheaper cost. It is another game that is simple and fun, but can still be challenging and rewarding.
