After turning 40-years-old last year, my wife told me that I need to focus more on my health. I’ll be honest, it took me a while to finally get the message. The unhealthy habits continued as I was drinking so many sodas throughout the day. When I wasn’t drinking drinks, you could catch me with some sugary snack in my possession. When my wife stated how important my health was moving forward because I’m looking forward to being a grandpa one day. Two weeks ago, my wife and I decided to change our lifestyle and do it for the better. With that said, my lifestyle has changed for the better. I’m counting carbs, calories and put away all the greasy food in the process. Below are four things I’m doing to continue my new, healthier lifestyle.

Like I’ve said before, the amount of sugars and calories I was consuming was ridiculous. When I started laying out a plan to get healthier, the fist thing that I had to eliminate was drinks. Instead, I’ve started drinking so much water throughout the day. While many will say, water don’t taste good or doesn’t have a taste, but it’s good for you. If all else fails, add Crystal Light to get the water some flavor.

Switch to Healthier Beer

This is something that I’ve avoided for years, let’s just say ever since high school. While at the gym, I’m usually working on my cardio, arms, abs, chest and legs. Trust me, I’m usually tired and sore when I leave, but it’s a good feeling. As a family, we all go together because we’re pushing each other to be a better version of ourselves. Of course, when you’re at the gym, you must take a bathroom selfie LOL!!!

My wife and I bought some each other a Fitbit to keep track of our steps. We have a little competition to who gets the most steps daily, throughout the week and weekend. This is a good way to push each other and it works because we both walk a lot at our jobs.
