As someone that has played, covered or watched sports, nothing is more exciting that Game 7 of a series. This year, we have the luxury of having a pair in both conference Finals to see who advances to the NBA Finals. Cleveland took care of business in Game 6 to force this game as Lebron exploded for 44 points. Cleveland did receive some sad news as Kevin Love went down early in the game with a concussion when he collided with Jayson Tatum. Unfortunately, Kevin Love has been ruled out of Game 7 as he’s still in concussion protocol. With Kevin Love being the second-best player for Cavs this year, Lebron James will have that much on his back in this game. In the past, Lebron has stepped up in the situation and proved why many consider him to be the GOAT. Can he deliver again for Cleveland?
Coming into this game, Boston is still undefeated on their homecourt during the playoffs. In Game 6, Terry Rozier broke out with his best game so that could propel him into Game 7. On the other hand, Al Horford didn’t have his best game, but he’s a different player at home. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have come up huge throughout the playoffs and will need to one final time. Marcus Smart and Marcus Morris will need to check Lebron as much as possible and try to distract him. If the Celtics are going to advance to the NBA Finals, they’ll need a total team effort. It’s crazy to think the Celtics even got to this point without Kyrie Irving or Gordon Heyward. Before the season, people were asking if this team, when healthy can eliminate Lebron and the Cavs?
This should be the best game of the series, sure Cleveland is without Kevin Love. When you have someone like Lebron on your side, no matter that circumstances, you have a shot. Don’t be surprised if Lebron notched another 40-plus point performance to go with double-digits in rebounds and assists. Will his supporting cast like George Hill, J.R. Smith, Jeff Green, Kyle Korver and crew do their part? I’m not confident in this Cleveland team, but they do have a ton of veterans. With Jeff Green getting the start for Kevin Love, he will come through with his best performance of the playoffs. My heart says to go with Boston, but my mind says to never bet against Lebron. In my original article about this series I had the Cavs winning in 6 or 7 games. I’m still saying Lebron and the Cavs win on the road.
