Who Walks Away with the AFC East in 2019?

The big news coming out of sports is the Christmas schedule in the NBA. For the NFL, training camp has started, and we’ve already had the Hall of Fame game. In the AFC East, there have been some key additions and departures. The New England Patriots have run the division for damn near two decades. New England is also coming off another Super Bowl championship with their win over the Los Angeles Rams. With Tom Brady turning 42, will he remain the same caliber QB this season? Will the Jets, Dolphins or Bills step up to the plate and challenge the Patriots?

Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen is entering year 2 at the helm for the Buffalo Bills. With inconsistencies on the offensive line, Buffalo targeted getting Allen protection. The Bills signed numerous linemen and also added some targets for Allen. Buffalo added Cole Beasley and John Brown to help Josh Allen continue to grow at the QB position. The Bills have always had a stout defense and this upcoming season shouldn’t be different. Can the Bills improve from their 6-win season from a year ago?

Miami Dolphins

Miami will be trying to improve from their 8-8 record from a season ago. They lost their franchise QB Ryan Tannehill, Danny Amendola, Frank Gore and Cam Wake. The Dolphins were able to add a pair of QBs and resigned DeVante Parker. The Dolphins are hoping they added their franchise QB of the future in Josh Rosen. With the Cardinals drafting Kyler Murray, they traded Rosen to the Dolphins. Miami also added journey Ryan Fitzpatrick to the fold. Can this Dolphins team improve and challenge the Patriots this upcoming season?

New England Patriots

The 2019 Super Bowl Champions are looking to get back to the promise land once again. Tom Brady is a year older and Rob Gronkowski retired this offseason. Like always, New England is always busy during the offseason. While the Patriots continue to be patient with Josh Gordon, they still added help in their receiving corp. Ben Watson, Demaryius Thomas and now Cameron Meredith is a part of the WR core of the Patriots. On the defensive side, New England added All-Pro Michael Bennett to their defensive line. Will those key additions help offset the losses of Tre Flowers, Trent Brown and Cordelle Patterson?

New York Jets

The New York Jets were busy this offseason as they’re trying to return to their winning ways. The big signing for the Jets was getting Le’Veon Bell to a monster deal. New York wasn’t finished as they inked C.J. Mosley to help anchor the defense. Anthony Barr was also brought in to help that defense and the Jets wasn’t finished on offense. Sam Darnold will have an elite RB behind him, and they also added Jamison Crowder to their WR core. With new coach, Adam Gase at the helm the offense should improve and Darnold should benefit. Can Darnold make a huge improvement and lead the Jets to challenge the Patriots?
