Miami vs. Florida to Open College Football Season

The time has finally come and that’s some college football. We kick the season off in a major way with a battle of two high-profiled Florida teams. The Miami Hurricanes will take on the 8th ranked, Florida Gators. This is not only a battle of two Florida teams, but a pair of a couple power conferences. This is the first battle between the ACC and SEC. Who will walk away from the first big matchup of the year with the win?

Florida is expected to challenge the Georgia Bulldogs for the SEC East Crown. The Gators are loaded up on the defensive side as always. On offense, Florida will he loaded also. Dan Mullen is entering his second season with lofty expectations. Feleipe Franks will once again be at the quarterback position after a great season a year ago. This will be the best team the Gators have had in about a decade. If Franks doesn’t turn the ball over, Florida should be fine. Can Franks avoid that Hurricane pressure to lead the Gators to the opening game win?

The Miami Hurricanes is trying to rediscover their success a couple seasons ago. Two years ago, Miami was looking like they were returning to their championship form. Unfortunately, last season they slid back a few notches. In the off-season, Mark Richt stepped down as the head coach. The defensive coordinator is the new coach of the Hurricanes. Miami comes into this season with a few spots where they’re inexperienced. With Florida having such an experienced squad, that could spell trouble for Miami. In the end, I’m picking the Gators to walk away with the victory.

Florida Win 34-21
