Ready to Die Released 25 Years Ago by The Notorious Big

It’s hard to believe the Notorious Big has been gone for over 22 years. 25 years ago today, Notorious Big released his classic debut, Ready to Die. If you followed the 2Pac and Notorious Big drama, it’s even crazier that Pac passed away 23 years ago today. Ready to Die is looked at as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all-time. The only feature on Ready to Die was from Method Man. The first single from Ready to Die dropped in the early part of summer of 1994. Juicy was the track and you immediately paid attention to the track and Notorious Big. Juicy went on to go gold and became the top rap song in the country. Juicy is an all-time classic hip hop record. Ready to Die have went on to sell well over 6 million records.

At the very end of 1994, Notorious Big dropped another single. Big Poppa was that single and it was released with Warning. Big Poppa is another classic track over a smooth Isley Brothers beat. The track is dope and the video makes it that much better. Big Poppa also became the top rap song in the country and won a Billboard Award. Warning was the B-Side single and it was another dope joint from Biggie. Warning was the third video released off the album. By this time, the Notorious Big was on top of the rap world. As we headed into 1995, Ready to Die was still in heavy rotation amongst the hip hop heads.

In the middle of 1995, the Notorious Big released his fourth and final single. One More Chance was the track and he released a remix to the joint. The remix to One More Chance is still one of my favorite tracks from the Notorious Big. The video was one of the dopest you’ll ever see. Faith Evans, Mary J. Blige, Total, Heavy D and many others appeared in the video. After Biggie wrapped up the promotion for that single, he turned his attention to Junior Mafia and their Conspiracy album. Ready to Die is a must have for all my fellow hip hop heads. Below is the track listing and it’s followed by the stream link.
