Welcome to Week 14 of the college football season. My record last week was 4-0, which raises my overall mark to 45-9. My winning percentage jumps from 82 to 83.3% as I’m riding a 14-game winning streak. Ohio State made a statement by blasting Penn State and laying claim to be the best in the country. The big upset of the week came when Arizona State beat Oregon, who was the 6th ranked team at the time. Michigan continues to look great with their game against Ohio State looming. The Wolverines blew out a good and scrappy Indiana squad. Georgia proves that their defense is one of the best in the nation as they held off Texas A&M. if they have a slight chance against LSU, the offense must pick things up. With all the rival games this week, we’ll be predicting a total of seven games.
We kick things off with one of the most heated rivalries in all of college sports. The top-ranked ranked Ohio State Buckeyes travel to the Big House to battle the 13th ranked Michigan Wolverines. Ohio State has arguably been the best overall team this entire season. They’re also led by arguably the best player in the country in Chase Young. Despite being on defense, Young can control the entire game. The two ranked teams they’ve played, Young has a total of seven sacks. Michigan has looked like the team we thought they would be the last month and a half. The offense can score with anyone and the defense is starting to look dominant again. Can Jim Harbaugh finally beat Ohio State? Will the Wolverines pull off the upset? This is a tough one to pick, but I’m going with Ohio State to remain undefeated in a good game.
Ohio State Win 31-27
We stay in the Big Ten for this matchup with major complications. The 12th ranked Wisconsin Badgers travel to Minnesota to battle the 10th ranked Golden Gophers. The winner of this game will advance to the Big Ten Championship to play Ohio State. For Wisconsin, this could salvage their season and could put them in the Rose Bowl. As far as Minnesota goes, they still have an outside shot at reaching the playoffs. Minnesota would need to win this game, upset Ohio State and get some help. Wisconsin seems to be back to the team we all knew before the losses. Minnesota surprised many people and especially when they knocked off Penn State. Could they complete this miracle season and have their shot at Ohio State? I’m thinking they’ll win and get the chance to play Ohio State in the Big Ten title game.
Minnesota Win 27-24
We head down south for the Iron Bowl. The 5th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide travels to Auburn to battle the 15th ranked Tigers. The Crimson Tide still have their eyes on a playoff berth. For that to happen, they would need Georgia to lose. If the Bulldogs were to lose, would the committee put Alabama or possibly Utah at the fourth spot. With the injury to Tua, this will be a tough one for the Tide. Can Mac Jones lead Alabama to a win over their rival on the road? Auburn has arguably the toughest schedule of any team in college football. Auburn would love to ruin the playoff hopes and improve their bowl position. Can Bo Nix fight off all the pressure of the Tide defense to lead Auburn to the upset? How will the Auburn defense hold up against the Tide offense? This is another tough one, but the Tide will escape with the win.
Alabama Win 30-20
We head to the Big 12 conference for this battle of Oklahoma. The 7th ranked Sooners travel to Stillwater to battle the 21st ranked Cowboys. Oklahoma have already clinched a spot in the Big 12 Championship game. The Sooners are still eyeing the playoffs, but they will need a lot of help. Jalen Hurts have guided this Sooner team to wins despite the defense struggling. Will the Sooners stop the great offense of the Cowboys? The Cowboys is looking to finish the regular season on a strong note. While the Sooners are looking at the playoff, Oklahoma State is trying to position themselves in a good bowl game. Can this Cowboys offense keep up with the Sooners? I’m rolling with the Sooners to barely escape with a win.
Oklahoma Win 38-35
We have another game between ranked teams in the same conference. The 19th ranked Cincinnati Bearcats travel to Memphis to battle the 18th ranked Tigers. This could be a preview of the American Athletic Conference Championship game. The Bearcats have already clinched their division and they’ll be in the title game. Memphis comes in this game tied with Navy, but they own the tiebreaker. It’s simple for Memphis, if they win, they’ll be battling Cincinnati again. The Bearcats have a special place in my heart because one of my childhood friend’s son play for them. Memphis is also another great and underrated squads in the country. This will be a great battle between two hungry squads but I’m going with Memphis.
Memphis Win 34-24
We have a battle between two SEC West teams. The Texas A&M Aggies will travel to Death Valley to battle the 2nd ranked LSU Tigers. The Aggies battled the team the Tigers will face in the SEC title game. Texas A&M put up a great fight against Georgia but fell short. Can Coach Fisher come up with something to upset LSU? The Tigers have been one of the best teams in the country all season. Joe Burrow is the front runner for the Heisman Trophy. Like we’ve mentioned before, LSU normally have one of the best defenses in the nation. This year, the defense isn’t great, but the offense is the best in the country. With that said, I’m going with them to beat the Aggies.
LSU Win 45-27
The final game of the weekend will be a battle of two Florida squads. The Florida State Seminoles travel to Gainesville to face the 11th ranked Gators. The Seminoles have looked great since the dismissal of Coach Willie Taggart. Florida State is looking to finish the season on a positive note. What better way to do that than to upset the Florida Gators? As far as those Gators, no they’re looking to finish the season strong and help their bowl positioning. The Gators are hoping to finish with another 10-win season. Can the Gators take care of home and beat the Seminoles? I’m thinking they will beat Florida State.
Florida Win 34-21
