Welcome to another Thursday as that means we are closer to the weekend. This week, I’ve been back on my regular routine now that I’m out of Covid protocol. Memphis Bleek’s debut joint, the E. 1999 Eternal classic from Bone and the Friday Soundtrack started my week. The new 2 Chainz, an underrated album from Pistol and Black Mafia from Steady Mobb’n was also played. For my Throwback Thursday, I’m going in another direction with one of my favorite albums ever. Let’s Get It: Thug Motivation 101 is one of those projects you can play from the beginning to end without skipping a track. With an album like Thug Motivation 101, you could literally pick any track to be your featured one. For this one, I’ll go with Get Ya Mind right which was played during his Verzuz with Gucci Mane.
Thug Motivation also featured Jay-Z, T.I., Lil’ Scrappy, Mannie Fresh, Bun B, Akon, Trick Daddy and Young Buck. Thug Motivation went on to sell over two million records and it made Jeezy an instant star. And Then What, Go Crazy, Trap or Die and Bang are my top 5 along with the featured track. Like I’ve mentioned before, Thug Motivation is one of my favorite hip hop albums of all-time. If you haven’t checked it out before or just need a refresher, listen or stream below.
