Ludacris Word of Mouf Released 20 Years Ago Today

Ludacris is known as one of the best lyricists to ever touch the mic despite his playful delivery. Ludacris first hit the scene worldwide over 20 years ago. Back for the First Time was his debut album and it hit hard by selling over 3 million copies. The album produced several hits like Southern Hospitality and What’s Your Fantasy. Those hits made him one of the biggest rappers in the world at the turn of the century. Unfortunately, Ludacris haven’t dropped an album in over 6 years. These days you can catch him doing movies like Fast and the Furious and being an entrepreneur. 20 years ago today, Ludacris dropped his Word of Mouf album. Word of Mouf is #1 on my list of Ludacris top 5 albums. The album went on to sell almost 4 million records and it debuted at the top of the charts.

Area Codes was the first single from the album and it was released back in the summer of 2001. Area Codes first appeared on the Rush Hour 2 soundtrack, and it featured the late, great Nate Dogg. The second single off of Word of Mouf was Rollout (My Business). Rollout (My Business) was a dope track that was actually nominated for a Grammy for best rap male performance. The third single was Saturday (Ohhh! Ohhh!) was another fun, but great track. Saturday (Oooh! Ohhh!) dropped at the beginning of 2002. The fourth and final single featured Mystikal and I-20 from Ludacris’s Disturbing the Peace label. Move Bitch was another great track, and they all killed this track. My top 5 tracks are Freaky Thangs, Keep It on the Hush, Saturday, Move Bitch and Roll Out. Check out the track listing and stream links below.
