T.I. King Album Dropped 15 Years Ago Today

It’s hard to believe that it’s going on 20 years since T.I. dropped I’m Serious. T.I. is still putting out music as he released 11th solo album, The Libra last year. The Libra was a dope project and proved why he’s a legend and one of the best to ever do it. 15 years ago today, T.I. released King which was his fourth project. King was the follow-up to Urban Legend, which was dope. Of course, Urban Legend came after Trap Muzik, which I think is a flawless album. T.I. was definitely on a run during this time because King cemented his legacy in my opinion. Trap Muzik, Urban Legend…

Urban Legend from T.I. Released 15 Years Ago Today

Trap Muzik was arguably the best album from T.I. Actually, Trap Muzik is my top album from T.I. and Urban Legend is slightly after that. Urban Legend is the third album from T.I. and the follow up to Trap Muzik. Urban Legend dropped 15 years ago today and it continued T.I.’s incredible run. During this time, T.I. started referring himself as the King of the South. After the Urban Legend album, we all can understand why he done that. While T.I. was still putting out music from Trap Muzik, he dropped his first single off of Urban Legend. Bring Em’ Out was the first single released and it was dropped…

T.I. Paperwork Released 5 Years Ago Today

T.I. has had a lengthy and legendary career spanning almost 20 years now. T.I. have released a few classics along the way and even called himself “The King of the South”. 5 years ago today, T.I. released his ninth album, Paperwork. Jeezy, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Pharrell Williams, Trae the Truth, The Dream and the late, great Nipsey Hussle appear on the album. While Paperwork isn’t on par with albums like Trap Muzik or Urban Legend, but it’s a good project. My favorite track off the album was probably G Shit featuring Jeezy. You can peep the video for G-Shit below. The three official singles released for this album featured…

Listen to My Top 5 Albums from T.I.

Last week, we had the original King of the South in Scarface. T.I. have been calling himself the King of the South for quite a few years now. When he first started to call himself that, there were a lot of people taking excepting to it. Either way, over the years T.I. have earned that name with the great projects he’s released. T.I. been in the game for well over 15 years as he dropped his debut album in 2001. I’m Serious was his debut album and it was an instant southern classic. Because I’m Serious selling over 270,000 copies, T.I. was dropped from the label. In 2003, T.I. launched…

Stream Dime Trap Right Now from T.I.

T.I. is finally back with his with new album, Dime Trap. Seeing that I’ve followed his career ever since I’m Serious, it’s hard to believe he’s been in the game for over 17 years. Last month, it was announced he signed with Epic Records and he released two new tracks. Less than two months ago, T.I. celebrated the 15th anniversary of his classic Trap Muzik album. With appearances from Young Thug, Jeezy, Teyana Taylor, Anderson. Paak, YFN Lucci, Watch the Duck, and Dave Chappelle, who plays the voice in Tip’s head. T.I. talks about his troubled past with Pray for Me and his marriage on the Amazing Mr. Fuck Up.…

Paper Trail Released 10 Years Ago by T.I.

T.I. just signed with Epic Records and released two new tracks earlier this month. This coming Friday, he’s set to release his new album, Dime Trap. 10 years ago, T.I. dropped his 6th album, Paper Trail. Paper Trail featured Jay-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Ludacris, Rihanna, Usher, John Legend and Justin Timberlake. Paper Trail sold well over 500, 000 copies the first week making it Gold out the gate. Paper Trail went on to go double Platinum. During this period, T.I. was awaiting trial for his federal weapons and possession charges. For Paper Trail, T.I. released a total of 8 singles with four of them reaching the Billboard charts. On…

T.I. Rubber Band Man for Throwback Thursday

A couple of weeks, T.I. celebrated the 15th anniversary of his Trap Muzik album. This is not only T.I.’s best album, but one of my all-time favorite hip hop albums. For my Throwback Thursday track, it’s his smash-hit Rubber Band Man produced by David Banner. This video made T.I. into a superstar, plus it had cameos from Diddy, but Michael Vick was that dude in Atlanta. Usher, Lil Duval, Jagged Edge, Youngbloodz, Bow Wow and many others.

T.I. Released His Classic Debut, I’m Serious 15 Years Ago

It’s hard to believe that T.I. has been in the game for 15 years. That pretty much shows you how time flies by so fast because it doesn’t feel like he dropped I’m Serious in 2001. On October 9th, the King of the South released his debut album. The first and only single from the album was the title track, which featured Beenie Man. The Neptunes handled the production of the track and I really liked the track when I first heard it. After releasing the album, which I bought I thought he had plenty of potential and this was just the beginning. Unfortunately, the album wasn’t well-received and he…

T.I. featuring Common and Pharrell for Throwback Thursday

It has been a very, very long time since I have done a Throwback Thursday, and this is the perfect time to bring that back. The artist I’ll be showcasing Atlanta’s rapper and legend, TIP, who just dropped a new project called Us or Else. It’s hard to believe that next month, T.I. will be celebrating his debut album; I’m Serious dropping 15 years ago, which I will have a write-up about. With the discography that the King of the South possesses, I think he’s one of more underrated rappers ever, and he’s one of my favorite rappers of all-time. With so many songs to pick from the track I’m…

School children from all over Atlanta were gifted with dozens of backpacks and supplies for their first day of school courtesy of The King of the South, TIP “T.I.” Harris. Held at the Cascade Crossing Shopping Center, TIP along with Greg Street of V-103 the People’s Station and Saving Our Daughters Organization, hosted their first ever event which encouraged members of the community to register to vote, open up bank accounts with Citizens Trust Bank, one of the largest black owned banks in the southeast, as well as grab new supplies to start their kids year off on the right foot. Kamikaze by Twista Released 20 Years Ago Today

Twista dropped his first album back in 1992 under the name of Tung Twista. In 1994, he dropped his 2nd album called Resurrection, but only went by Twista then. Both albums didn’t get a lot of love, so we didn’t hear from him for a couple years. In 1996, Twista reemerged with Do or Die as he was featured on their smash hit Po Pimp. Due to the massive success of the single, Twista was back in the spotlight. The following year, he dropped his third album called Adrenaline Rush. Adrenaline Rush is considered by many, and I’m included to be a classic album. The album went platinum and Twista…

Killer Mike All 4 U for Throwback Thursday

Killer Mike just dropped one of my favorite albums this year in Michael. Michael is his 6th album and it’s a good album. Killer Mike is known more for his political stance and views he’s been sharing over the years. Mike recently teamed with T.I. to reopen a prominent seafood spot in Atlanta. While Mike has flexed his entrepreneurial skills, he’s been in the game for over 20 years now. In March of 2003, Killer Mike released his debut album called Monster. Monster debut at #4 and he boasted some big features on his debut joint. Outkast, T.I and Bun B all made appearances on Monster.  Mike dropped two singles…

Bun B You’re Everything for Throwback Thursday

UGK is one of the most influential groups or duos to ever touch the mic. Unfortunately, Chad Butler aka Pimp C passed away in December of 2007. Bun B dropped his solo debut two years prior called Trill. About five months later, Bun B released his second solo joint called II Trill. II Trill became the #1 album in the country and has sold over 300,000 copies. Lil Wayne, Lupe Fiasco, Juvenile, Pimp C, Young Buck, Slim Thug, Chamillionaire, 8Ball & MJG all made appearances. One of my favorite tracks off the album is called You’re Everything. You’re Everything features southern all-stars Rick Ross, David Banner, 8Ball & MJG. With…

Death Row Records Released Gridlock’d Soundtrack 25 Years Ago

Death Row Records is known as one of the best hip hop labels to ever exist. Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, Tha Dogg Pound and many others called the iconic label home. Death Row continues to be in the news seeing Snoop Dogg has expressed interest in taking over its content. Snoop will drop his new album in a couple weeks, and it’s called Bacc on Death Row. We all know that Death Row is known for their classic albums, but they dropped great movie soundtracks also. We all know that Above the Rim has been mentioned as one of the best ever. Crime Boss Big Chiefing for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another Thursday as that mean we are closer to the weekend again. The started off with the Hip Hop is Dead joint from Nas and then the new Cordae album. One of my personal 2Pac Greatest Hits and then So Help Me God from 2 Chainz. The debut from Gang Starr, Fuck a Mixtape from T.I. and Laugh Now Cry Later by Ice Cube. As you can see, there’s plenty to choose from regarding my featured Throwback Thursday joint. Another compilation I’ve put together is one for Suave House Records. I’ve made a compilation before and also featured 10 Suave House albums you should have in your collection.…

Whitney Houston Greatest Love of All for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another Thursday as that mean we are closer to the weekend. Once again, my playlist this week was crazy. Seasoned Veteran from Richie Rich kicked things off and it was followed Naughty by Nature’s Greatest Hits album. Word of Mouf from Luda, No Mercy by T.I. and The End by the Three 6 Mafia was also played. Speaking of Three 6 Mafia, make sure you check their Verzuz with Bone Thugs-N-Harmony tonight. B.G.’s Chopper City, Amerikaz Nightmare by Mobb deep and The Bachelor was also played this week. All those are worthy of being featured this week, but I’m going in another direction. Disc 1 of Whitney Houston’s…

Young Dro Hear Me Cry for Throwback Thursday

Welcome to another Thursday as that mean we are closer to the weekend. My playlist this week consisted of a few mixtapes. Southern Smoke 16, DJ J-Boogie’s Heavy D tribute and a classic from DJ Cuttnice were all played. The Doctor’s Advocate from Game, G Code from Juvenile and T-Pain’s debut joint also made the list. There are a few that could have been the featured track, but I’ll go in another direction. One of the albums that was played was a personal mixtape I made several years ago. The mixtape featured 50 Cent, Nas, 2Pac, Beanie Sigel and Jay-Z. One artist that also made an appearance on the mixtape…
