NBA Playoffs from 4/18/2011

Last night the playoffs continued with the Miami Heat putting a beatdown on the Philadelphia 76ers in the first game with a 94-73 win at home to take a 2-0 series lead in the opening round, best of 7 series. The game was basically over by halftime were the 76ers shot only 26% from the field. Miami lead 49-31 at halftime and never looked back as LeBron James lead the way in scoring with 29 points. Chris Bosh also had another double-double finishing with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Dwyane Wade who has been fighting migraines finished with 14 points. Philadelphia was lead by Thaddeus Young with 18 points. Game 3 will be Thursday night in Philadelphia try to make it a series.

The second game of the night between the Chicago Bulls and the Indiana Pacers was much like the first game where the Bulls had to rely on there point guard and favorite to be the league MVP Derrick Rose who finished with 36 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The game was close throughout with the score being tied after 3 quarters after guard T.J Ford of the Indiana Pacers hit a 55 foot shot at the end of the 3rd quarter. But the Bulls outscored the Pacers in the 4th quarter 29-23 to seal another close victory going into game 3 in Indianapolis on Thursday night. Indiana was lead in scoring by Danny Granger with 19 points. Carlos Boozer rebounded from an off game 1 with 17 points and 16 rebounds for the Bulls.

Zach Randolph signs an Extension with the Grizzlies………

On the heels of the Memphis Grizzlies upsetting the #1 seed in the Western Conference, San Antonio Spurs 101-98 in Game 1 of the opening round of the playoffs the Grizzlies awarded there double-double machine with a 4 year, 71 million dollar extension, which was rumored for months preventing him testing the free agent waters. Sundays win by the Grizzlies was the first playoff win in franchise history.
