Throwback Thursday: Jon B The Cool Relax Album

I'll admit, I was and still a huge fan of Jon B!! A few days ago I was browsing my site and I noticed that I haven't showed any love on the music side of things lately. One of the main reasons my blog got noticed was my love for music being shown throughout the site. From this point on I'll be posting for either Music Monday, Throwback Thursday, both or Mixtape Friday. This time I'm going to do things a little bit differently though because I'll be posting albums that I'm either listening to or have listened to during that week. So from now on ... [read more]

Eightball and MJG- Space Age Pimpin

It's been a while since I done Throwback Thursday and what better way to bring it back then with my favorite group ever, Eightball and MJG. This past Halloween marked the 20th anniversary of the release of their third album, On Top of the World and it marked a remarkable run with their first three albums. Comin' Out Hard and On tha Outside Looking In along with the one up above a certified classic and made me huge fans of theirs. My featured track could've been so many tracks off this album, but I'm going with the track that was probably their ... [read more]

Force MDs- Tender Love

After watching their amazing story on Unsung, I knew that I had to feature one of the most underrated groups to come out of the 80s and that's the Force MDs. This group kept churning out hit after hit, until the music business started to get the best of them and the tragic loss of their lead singer. To be honest, I didn't know too much about their backstory or anything like that, but I knew that the track I'm featuring for Throwback Thursday is one of my all-time favorite songs and that's Tender Love. This track is featured on their second ... [read more]

Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell- Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

Today would have been my parent's 39th anniversary if my dad didn't pass away earlier in this year. This coming weekend I'm going to spend it with my mom by having her stay at my house for the weekend and taking her out. My parents are both huge fans of old school music, but my dad was a huge fan of music, whether it was old school r&b, classics and even hip hop. With today being their anniversary I'm dedicating my Throwback Thursday to them. My choice is Marvin Gaye, which is my 2nd favorite artist ever, but I could've chose anyone from Al ... [read more]

LL Cool J- I Need Love

While preparing my upcoming LL Cool J Greatest Hits double album, it hit me that Uncle L has put out some hits over the years. In no way, shape or form I'm saying that I've slept on him, but just giving props. He's one of the first rappers that I got into when I was younger and now, almost 30 years later I'm still talking about him. He was the first cool rapper from what I remember and he released his first album in 1985, which was Radio. While thinking about what track I wanted for Throwback Thursday, I had to go to the track that made me a ... [read more]
