T.I. Rubber Band Man for Throwback Thursday

A couple of weeks, T.I. celebrated the 15th anniversary of his Trap Muzik album. This is not only T.I.’s best album, but one of my all-time favorite hip hop albums. For my Throwback Thursday track, it’s his smash-hit Rubber Band Man produced by David Banner. This video made T.I. into a superstar, plus it had cameos from Diddy, but Michael Vick was that dude in Atlanta. Usher, Lil Duval, Jagged Edge, Youngbloodz, Bow Wow and many others. https://youtu.be/xjDT3rMSQLQ ... [read more]

Classic I’m So Fly Lloyd Banks for Throwback Thursday

The Punchline King, Lloyd Banks was one of the hottest MCs when G-Unit first hit the scene. After many appearances on several classic G-Unit mixtapes, 50 Cent released his classic, major label debut, Get Rich or Die Trying.  After the successful 50 Cent album, G-Unit released their debut, group album Beg for Mercy. 50 Cent prepped Lloyd Banks as they released the single, Smile from the album featuring Banks with 50 on the hook. June of the following year, Banks released his debut album, Hunger for More and On Fire was his lead single. A few ... [read more]

Make It Last Forever Keith Sweat for Throwback Thursday

Today marks 21 years that my wife and I officially became a couple. It’s hard to believe that we’ve been together for this amount of time. Throughout our ups-and-downs, we’ve been able to have three beautiful kids and a couple of crazy dogs. Our favorite song has always been Make It Last Forever by Keith Sweat, and it have a special meaning to us. With it being Throwback Thursday and the day of our anniversary, this is the perfect track. Happy anniversary to my wife and let’s make this thing last forever baby, I Love You. If you’re married, ... [read more]

Mac Boss Chick Featuring Mia X for Throwback Thursday

No Limit Records will forever be one of my favorite record labels. They put out hit after hit and my favorite artist from the label is Mac. Unfortunately, Mac is serving time in prison on a crime he didn’t commit, but let’s focus on the positive. Before his unfortunate situation, Mac dropped two albums on No Limit, Shell Shocked and World War 3. My Throwback Thursday track is from his Shell Shocked album, which recently celebrated its 20 year anniversary. The track is called Boss Chick and it featured Mia X, which is the first track off the ... [read more]

2Pac Snoop Dogg Wanted Dead or Alive

By now, if you’re a fan of hip hop or music in general, you probably heard about 2Pac and Snoop Dogg. Since 2Pac passed, you have heard numerous stories about their relationship. Whether it’s how they became cool, how Snoop “allegedly” told Suge he need to bring 2Pac to Death Row or there falling out. Either way, they are two of the most iconic rappers ever and they put out beautiful music when they collaborated. 2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted comes to mind, but they’ve been on quite a few cuts together. Most of them have been heard throughout ... [read more]

My Philosophy from Boogie Down Productions

The Boogie Down Productions is one of the more underrated groups of all-time. As time has gone by, it’s to the point where they’re not even mentioned before. The original group consisted of KRS-One, D-Nice and DJ Scott La Rock. One of the reasons could be the untimely of DJ Scott La Rock as he was murdered in 1987, five months after their debut album. Criminal Minded set the bar really high after its debut, but they went all out with their 2nd album a year later. By All Means Necessary displayed KRS-One looking outside a window holding a gun ... Kanye West Heard Em Say for Throwback Thursday

Another week and another Throwback Thursday track on deck. Yesterday I finally broke down and listened to the Ye album by Kanye West. When people told me that it was different, they weren’t lying. Honestly, a couple songs caught my attention which was Yikes and No Mistakes. Overall, this wasn’t for me, but then again, I wouldn’t call myself a Kanye fan. The people that’s huge fan of his have called him a genius and haters have called him a nut. To me, Kanye isn’t a genius and he’s far from a nut, but I admire his ability of speaking his mind. ... T.I. featuring Common and Pharrell for Throwback Thursday

It has been a very, very long time since I have done a Throwback Thursday, and this is the perfect time to bring that back. The artist I’ll be showcasing Atlanta's rapper and legend, TIP, who just dropped a new project called Us or Else. It’s hard to believe that next month, T.I. will be celebrating his debut album; I'm Serious dropping 15 years ago, which I will have a write-up about. With the discography that the King of the South possesses, I think he’s one of more underrated rappers ever, and he’s one of my favorite rappers of all-time. ... [read more]

Throwback Thursday: Jon B The Cool Relax Album

I'll admit, I was and still a huge fan of Jon B!! A few days ago I was browsing my site and I noticed that I haven't showed any love on the music side of things lately. One of the main reasons my blog got noticed was my love for music being shown throughout the site. From this point on I'll be posting for either Music Monday, Throwback Thursday, both or Mixtape Friday. This time I'm going to do things a little bit differently though because I'll be posting albums that I'm either listening to or have listened to during that week. So from now on ... [read more]

Eightball and MJG- Space Age Pimpin

It's been a while since I done Throwback Thursday and what better way to bring it back then with my favorite group ever, Eightball and MJG. This past Halloween marked the 20th anniversary of the release of their third album, On Top of the World and it marked a remarkable run with their first three albums. Comin' Out Hard and On tha Outside Looking In along with the one up above a certified classic and made me huge fans of theirs. My featured track could've been so many tracks off this album, but I'm going with the track that was probably their ... [read more]
