Have you ever been stuck in the Emergency Room for hours to only receive unsatisfactory service and a high bill? How bout going to one of those Quick Care places to be stuck there longer than they advertise? Trust me, I’ve been through that several times and have learned my lesson about those situations, whether dealing with an ER doctor that’s ready to get you out in a hurry or long waits at the Quick Care Clinic.

One day while looking for some cough medicine for my son in CVS and one of the pharmacists asked me about his symptoms and how long he’s had his cold, so after talking she told me, why not bring him here to visit the MinuteClinic here inside the store. I agreed, so I asked what times do they have available so I can bring him back, she said no appointment was needed, just walk in and we’ll take care your son.

We arrived about 15 minutes later, we live about 5 minutes away so we got there pretty quick and we immediately entered the office to be seen. Now I was familiar with them because my son actually got his physical for basketball there and I was satisfied with how thorough they checked EVERYTHING. I’ve always taken my son to the doctor for his physicals but after the visit that changed real quickly, might I add that it was cheaper also.

This visit I found out he had the flu, which was really bad, but they talked to us about how to get better and things to do to keep him hydrated. Seeing I get all of my prescriptions at CVS and while they were talking to us, they were already filling our prescription so we picked up a couple of more items before getting our prescription and leaving.

I highly recommend the MinuteClinic and the cool thing is that they’re located in 28 states and in Washington DC. You can locate them by visiting www.minuteclinic.com/locations to see if there’s one near you. You may be asking if the staff consist of certified professionals to assist you in your time of need. Yes they are, because they’re Board-certified nurse practitioners and physician assistants can diagnose, treat and prescribe for a variety of common family illnesses, such as strep throat, ear infections, pink eye and UTIs.

MinuteClinic offers a wide range of vaccinations for children, adolescents, teens and adults including flu, pertussis, meningitis and others. Next time, think twice about visiting the ER or a Quick Care Clinic and they’re convenient because they’re open 7 days a week. They also take most insurance providers!!!! #MC
