Well it has come and gone, this was a great and exciting WrestleMania weekend that started off by inducting Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Lita, Mr. T, Razor Ramon, Carlos Colon, Paul Bearer and the headlining Ultimate Warrior (R.I.P). Yes, that’s a RIP beside the name of the Ultimate Warrior because he unfortunately passed the day after appearing on Monday Night Raw. You can read how I feel about the late, great Ultimate Warrior here. Well this WrestleMania had a few interesting matches and storylines in place heading into the PPV and let’s see how things played out. Let’s Get Started!!!!!!
Opening Segment with Hulk Hogan, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin & The Rock
What can you say about having these 3 legendary icons in the ring together? If you have a Mt. Rushmore of the WWE you can argue that these 3 would be on it. The pop Hogan got was big, the pop Austin got was huge and the pop the Rock got was crazy. Great respect for one another they showed in the ring, truly a great moment in the history of WrestleMania. The fans were chanting “This Is Awesome”!!! Austin & the Rock had to mess with Hogan for calling the Superdome the Silverdome.
Rating: 5/5- What better way is there to start of WrestleMania with Hogan, Austin and the Rock. Great segment!!!!
Awesome entrance like always by HHH. The crowd & seen when Daniel Bryan came out was electric. Very physical match from the 2 of them and great storytelling. It was huge seeing Daniel Bryan kick out of the Pedigree. Loved the post match beat down by HHH, which made things interesting later when Bryan fight for the title. Winner: Daniel Bryan
Match Rating: 4.5/5
This was nothing but a squash match and I’m not mad @ all. I was telling people that they don’t need to break-up the Shield without them having a run as babyfaces. Seems to be working out great!!! Winners: The Shield
Match Rating: Squash
When they first announced this match, I hated it and thought it was a waste of time. This was pretty entertaining and the crowd was really into it also. Love the fact that Cesaro won it and him picking up the Big Show was an incredible show of strength. What can I say about Kofi Kingston, he should be doing big things with his ability. Winner: Cesaro
Match Rating: 3.5/5- Pretty entertained by the match and the right guy won the match.
First off, that live intro of Bray’s entrance music was freakin awesome!!! Man this was an old school, mind game kinda like Bray is the new Mankind type of match. I loved the hell out of this match and hopefully more comes out of this feud because this could be interesting. Is it time for a Cena heel turn? I know that it’s not gonna happen and also they could’ve put Bray over @ Mania. Winner: John Cena
Match Rating: 4/5
This wasn’t what I was expecting from this match and then I found out that Taker suffered a severe concussion and then I understand why the match came off the way it did. I’m not going to pass judgement on the Streak ending because whenever Lesnar leave he should give that same rub to an up-and-coming star. So for now, I’m cool with the Streak ending seeing Taker wanted it that way. After seeing Taker after the loss I find it hard to believe that he’ll have another match. Winner: Brock Lesnar
Match Rating: 2.5/5
I would’ve been happy with Natalya, Naomi, Emma or Tamina challenge for the title. Winner: Aj Lee
Match Rating: 1.5/5
It turned out being Daniel Bryan being the 3rd competitor in the main event. I love how this match played out with all the odds going against Daniel Bryan from the crooked referee, having both Orton & Batista against him and The Authority trying everything they can to make sure he didn’t win. That one crazy spot where Batista & Orton double teamed Bryan with the Batista Bomb & RKO through the table. Wow!!!! The stretcher job was perfect also. Loved how the match played out. Winner and New WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Daniel Bryan
Match Rating: 4/5
Overall Rating: 8/10- An absolute great WrestleMania!!! That’s the way you build up for a WrestleMania moment with the Chase for the title by Daniel Bryan and him winning with the crowd going crazy, confetti coming down with the fireworks going off. Also the emergence of Cesaro and I would expect him to have a huge roll next year. Great match between Bryan/HHH, Cena/Bray and the Andre the Giant Memorial was pretty good also. The main event was perfect and to start WrestleMania off with Hogan, Austin and The Rock in the ring was perfect.
