Daddy’s Hangout Week 4 NFL Predictions for 2014

Welcome to week 4 of the NFL season and last week my predictions went to hell with a 3-4 record which brought my record down to 12-7. My winning percentage dropped from 75% to 63.2% and I can’t believe I’ve gone downhill in such a short period of time. So this week I have to do better and will do better even though I’ll have 6 tough games that I’ll be predicting this week. Let’s Get Started!!!

New_York_GiantsWashington RedskinsThis is the Thursday night game between 2 NFC East teams that are trying to get to .500 when the New York Giants face the Washington Redskins. The Giants are coming off their first win of the season last week against the Houston Texans. The Giants relied on RB Rashad Jennings last week to carry the offense and the question is that can he repeat the performance against the 3rd ranked rush defense. The Redskins are coming off a tough road loss against the Eagles last week but the offense has looked great since Kirk Cousins took over for RG3. They rank 3rd in pass offense and 9th in rush offense that could be trouble for the Giants. I think Cousins will have a field day  against the Giants defense and they will win this game.

                                                                          Redskins Win 38-21

green-bay-packers-simple-logo-yellow-480x320.jpg w=480Chicago_BearsLogo_Other1This is a battle between 2 rival teams that go back to the original NFL when the Green Bay Packers visit the Chicago Bears. There is a cause for concern in Title Town because the Packer offense has looked atrocious. They haven’t been able to run the ball which is leading to issues in the passing game, while the defense ranks in the bottom of league in rush defense. The Bears are coming off 2 big road wins against the Jets and the 49ers in consecutive weeks. They have the worse running offense in the NFL and rank about in the middle of the league in passing. The defense hasn’t been the typical defense that the Bears are accustomed to and will have issues with the Packers. I’m going with the Bears to win!!

                                                                            Bears Win 27-24

Baltimore-Ravens-LogoThis is going to be an intense game with the Carolina Panthers traveling to meet the Baltimore Ravens. The Panthers are coming off a tough loss on Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers at home and they’re looking to rebound. The Panthers had issues stopping the Steelers rushing attack and hopefully pick up a road win. The Ravens will have plenty to play for this game; well at least WR Steve Smith who signed with the Ravens after the Panthers chose not to bring him back because he’s an aging veteran. Smith has played great this season and will probably do everything in his power to rally the team. I’m going with the Ravens to win!!

                                                                           Ravens Win 23-17

philadelphia-eagles-logoSan-Francisco-49ers-PicksThis is a battle between 2 teams that I believe could see each other in the playoffs when the Philadelphia Eagles visit the San Francisco 49ers. The Eagles have one of the most dynamic offenses in the NFL and the 2nd ranked pass offense in the league. The Eagles pass defense is an issue because they’re in the bottom of the league in that category. The 49ers have lost 2 games in a row after having leads in the 1st half but they fell apart in the 2nd half. If Kaepernick plan on rebounding from his mishaps then playing against the Eagles defense could be the cure. This is a tough game for the 49ers defense with all those injuries and suspensions, but in the end I believe the 49ers will pull out the victory.

                                                                           49ers Win 35-24

new-orleans-saints-logoDallasThis is a battle between 2 of the most explosive offenses in the league when the New Orleans Saints visit the Dallas Cowboys. The Saints finally picked up their first win of the season last week and they’re looking to go 2-2 for the season. They have one of the worse pass offenses in the league and could spell trouble against the Cowboys. The Cowboys have won 2 games in a row after losing their opener and they have relied on the run game as they ranked 3rd in the league in rushing. The Cowboys are looking to keep pace with the Eagles in the division and hoping they can win and the Eagles lose. In a battle between 2 of the better passers in the league I believe the Saints will find a way to win this game.

                                                                           Saints Win 38-35

New_England_Patriots_Helmetkansas-city-chiefs-logoThis is the Monday night game when the New England Patriots visit the Kansas City Chiefs. The Patriots are coming off a tough defensive game against the Raiders and they have relied on their defense. Tom Brady has been playing like his skills are diminishing and the running game has been okay at best. Can they pull off the tough road win? The Kansas City Chiefs are coming off their 1st win last week on the road against the Dolphins without their star RB Jamal Charles. The big question of the week will probably be the health of Charles and will he play? The Chiefs have a good passing defense and will have issues with the Patriots run game and in the end I believe they will win this game.

                                                                           Chiefs Win 30-21

Well there you have it, there are 6 tough games and hopefully I can rebound from a tough week. What do you think about my picks this week? What are some upsets you envision this week? I would really love for others to play along with me and see how things will shape up. Come back next week and see how things fared.
