Welcome to Week 5 of the NFL season and last week could’ve been better because my record was 3-3 and brought my overall record to 15-10. My winning percentage drops from 63.2% to 60% in the process, which is definitely not the direction I want to be going. This week I have to start getting better because things can go down real fast if I don’t start winning and I will be predicting 7 games this week. Let’s Get Started!!!

minnesota_vikings_logo_prodgreen-bay-packers-simple-logo-yellow-480x320.jpg w=480This is the Thursday night game between 2 NFC East rivals when the Minnesota Vikings visit the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings surprised everyone last week when they lit up Atlanta and beat them 41-28 in the 1st start of Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater has a sprained ankle and signs point to him not playing so that means the defense will be critical in this game. The Packers went to Soldier Field last week and basically beat down the Bears with Rodgers having a huge game. The Packers are last in the league in rushing while the Vikings have the 8th ranked rushing team. I believe the Packers will win this game against the Vikings!!!

                                                                           Packers Win 35-20

arizona-cardinals5This is a huge game between 2 of the better teams from each conference as the undefeated Arizona Cardinals visit the Denver Broncos. The Cardinals are coming off a bye week and they have had impressive wins over the Chargers, Giants and 49ers before the bye week. Can they stop Peyton Manning and the dynamic offense of the Broncos? The Broncos are also coming off a bye week also but they’re coming off a tough loss in Seattle in the rematch of the Super Bowl. The Broncos need to find a running game and find a way to stop the pass because they’re next to last in that category in the league. I’m going with the Broncos at home to win this game!!

                                                                           Broncos Win 31-17

Cincinnati_Bengals_helmet_rightfaceNew_England_Patriots_HelmetThis is the Sunday night game as the undefeated Cincinnati Bengals visit the New England Patriots. The Bengals are thinking that this could be a special season with a Super Bowl appearance in site. They’re coming off a bye week after beating the Titans 33-7 and they face a tough challenge against the Patriots because they’re 2-7 against them the last 9 games. The Patriots have faced turmoil after being blown out last Monday night in Kansas City 41-14 and seeing Brady pulled towards the end of the game. Can Brady and the Patriots rebound and beat the top team in the AFC? I think they will pull off the big win against the Bengals!!!

                                                                            Patriots Win 28-24

kansas-city-chiefs-logoSan-Francisco-49ers-PicksAlex Smith returns to his original stomping grounds as the Kansas City Chiefs visit the San Francisco 49ers. Alex Smith was drafted by the 49ers in 2005 with the #1 overall pick and had his job taken by Colin Kaepernick a couple of years ago and he was traded to the Chiefs. They are coming off beating down the Patriots on Monday night and have won their last 2 games after losing the first 2. The 49ers are coming off a huge win over the previously undefeated Philadelphia Eagles last week, but this week has been filled with controversy with reports saying players don’t like Coach Harbaugh. I’m thinking they will win this game!!!!

                                                                           49ers Win 27-17

Houston_Texans_LogoDallasThis is battle between (2) 3-1 teams from Texas when the Houston Texans visit the Dallas Cowboys. The Texans are coming off a big win last week against the Buffalo Bills in a game that showed why J.J. Watt is the most dominate defensive player in the NFL. Can he contain DeMarco Murray, who’s the league’s leading rusher? Can the Texans offense help out the defense and score some? The Dallas Cowboys are looking like the Cowboys from the 90s where they had a great running game along with a great offensive line. Also, Tony Romo has cut out on his turnovers and the defense has played better than expected. I think the Cowboys will win this game!!!!

                                                                           Cowboys Win 38-21

Baltimore-Ravens-LogoColts_LogoThis is a battle between 2 teams in the AFC that could see each other in the playoffs when the Baltimore Ravens visit the Indianapolis Colts. The Ravens are coming off their 3rd win a row last week against a good Carolina team and have won 3 games in a row after losing their opener against the Bengals. They have done it with a tough run defense and an efficient offense. The Colts started the season losing their first 2 games but have won the last 2 games scoring over 40 points a game and have the top ranked pass offense in the NFL. This will be a tough, hard-hitting game and I think the Colts will win their 3rd game in a row.

                                                                           Colts Win 31-21

seattle-seahawks-logoWashington RedskinsThis is the Monday night game as the defending Super Bowl champion; Seattle Seahawks face the Washington Redskins. The Seahawks are coming off a bye week after beating the Denver Broncos a couple of weeks ago 26-20 in OT. The Seahawks rely on great running, a tough run defense and Russell Wilson not turning the ball over. The Redskins are coming off a serious beat down from the Giants last Thursday night where Kirk Cousins had his worse game as a pro. The Redskins still have a tough defense and the 4th ranked pass offense in the NFL. This game will be closer than expected but I still believe the Seahawks will pull off the win.

                                                                            Seahawks Win 34-24

Well there you have it, this is 6 pretty tough games and hopefully I can get back towards the 70% winning percentage. What did you think about my picks this week? How great will this week be with the NFL and college football? Come back next week and see how things will fare!!!
