Welcome to Week 11 of the college football season and the goal remain the same as I’m trying to get to the 70% winning percentage. Last week was another good week of college football highlighted by the Auburn/Ole Miss classic that went to down to the wire. My record was 4-2, which improved my record to 33-18 and making my winning percentage jump from 64.4% to 64.7%. This week I’ll be predicting another 6 tough games and hopefully I can get on a winning streak.
We start things off in the Big 12 conference as we have a top 10 match-up between the 9th ranked Kansas State Wildcats visiting the 7th ranked TCU Horned Frogs. The Wildcats are the only team in the conference that hasn’t lost a conference game and they lead TCU & Baylor by a game. Their only loss came earlier in the year against Auburn and they held them to 20 points. The Horned Frogs are one of the top teams in the nation and they’re coming off a last second win in West Virginia last week despite not playing their best game. This is a hard game to pick but I’m on the TCU bandwagon and think they’ll win.
Horned Frogs Win 30-24
We head to the Pac-12 for a key game when the 5th ranked Oregon Ducks face the 17th ranked Utah Utes. Oregon is coming off a big victory against longtime foe Stanford Cardinal and it seems like their poised to make a run into the playoffs. Marcus Mariota has once again been talked about as a Heisman frontrunner and this is the most difficult game on their schedule also. The Utah Utes have had a pretty successful first year in the Pac-12 conference, with wins over USC and UCLA while coming close to beating the Sun Devils on the road last week. The Ducks are on a mission and will win this game!!
Ducks Win 35-24
We head to the Big 10 conference as the 16th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes visit the 8th ranked Michigan State Spartans to see who will represent the Big 10 East in the conference championship game. The Ohio State Buckeyes have quietly played great since their early season loss against Virginia Tech and could start to make a stake for a 1-loss team in the playoffs. Michigan State is looking to making their case to be in the playoffs by winning out and hoping to be picked in the end. The Spartans use a tough defense and great running game to beat down opponents and will do the same against the Buckeyes.
Spartans Win 27-17
This is a battle between 2 teams that’s clamoring to get into the playoffs as the 10th ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish visit the 14th ranked Arizona State Sun Devils. The Fighting Irish has had a great season so far and the return of Everett Golson has been great and even getting some Heisman consideration. Their only blemish this year has been the heartbreaking loss to the Seminoles. The Sun Devils are coming off a tough home win against Utah and 2 of their last 3 games against ranked teams. This could turn into a shootout or could be a low scoring game with these teams but I’m going with the Sun Devils to win.
Sun Devils Win 26-24
Now we head to SEC country as we see 2 teams that are well too familiar with each other as the 6th ranked Alabama Crimson Tide visits the 19th ranked LSU Tigers. The Crimson Tide is looking to get into the playoffs and return to glory by winning the championship. Can Blake Sims lead the Tide to the victory against the Tigers on the road at night? The LSU Tigers started the season with high expectations before being upset by Mississippi State and then being blown out by the Auburn Tigers. They’re coming off a bye week after beating Ole Miss but I believe the Tide will barely win this one.
Crimson Tide Win 19-17
The final game is another game from the Big-12 conference as the 13th ranked Baylor Bears visit the 18th ranked Oklahoma Sooners. Baylor still has a shot at the Big 12 Championship and possibly one of the teams to make the playoffs. They can win out and have Kansas State in their final game at home that could possibly determine the winner of the conference. The Oklahoma Sooners were expected to be in a position to challenge for the national championship at the start of the season. The Sooners could play spoiler in Baylor’s championship aspirations and will beat the Bears.
Sooners Win 45-34

Well that’s it for Week 11 of this great college football season and once again we have some great games, 6 involving ranked teams to be exact. What did you think about the games I picked? What do you think about my top 5 teams in the country? Hopefully I can move closer to my 70% winning percentage goal and maybe start a winning streak.
