I spruced up my car using Castrol® products from Walmart, as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #WalmartAuto
If you follow me then you know I do most of my shopping at Walmart and that’s for everything from clothing, groceries, office stuff and for my automotive needs. About 3 months ago I done a post about getting Fuel Stabilizer while teaching my son about car care, then I picked up some new wiper blades and now I got the chance to pick up some oil there. My son will turn 16 next month so I have been showing him everything he needs to know about maintaining the car when he start driving. This time we ran to Walmart to pick up some Castrol® Motor Oil to show him how to check the oil and when to add oil to his engine. Whether its fuel stabilizer, oil or wiper blades you can find these products and more, at a Walmart near you in the Walmart Auto section or online at Walmart.com. We’re going to show you all how to check your oil and then add oil to your engine.
First you must locate your engine oil dipstick in your vehicle and the oil should probably be checked after the car cools down for an hour or so, so that oil in the return galleries, cylinder head valleys, etc. is drained down so you don’t get a false reading. Then hook a finger through the loop and pull the dipstick all the way out.
Use a paper towel or rag to wipe the dipstick clean so that you will have a clear reading.
Insert the dipstick into its opening and push it firmly all the way back, as far in as it will go. Pull it out all the way, this time reading the oil level. Now in the process, make sure you check the color of the oil and if it’s a clear, golden color then you’re good but always schedule a regular oil change, which we have already done about 2 weeks ago.
With winter around the corner make sure your vehicle is ready for the cold weather by heading to the Walmart Auto section by picking up transmission fluid, brake fluid, coolant or just stop by to have the mechanics to take a look at your car.
So with the holidays around the corner, what are some things you do to keep your car in great shapes?
