Raise your hand if you thought Wisconsin would beat Kentucky? My thinking coming into the game was that it would be a great game, possibly being an instant classic but I thought Kentucky would prevail and advance to the championship game. Congratulations to the Wisconsin Badgers on a great performance and getting some payback for their 1-point loss last year in the Final Four. On the other hand, the Blue Devils won pretty convincingly over the Michigan State Spartans in the other Final Four game to advance to the championship game which I predicted what would happen. Let’s see what will happen in the championship game between the Wisconsin Badgers and Duke Blue Devils.
This championship game match-up is a rematch from back on December 3rd where the 4th ranked Duke Blue Devils defeated 2nd ranked Wisconsin 80-70 in a game Tyus Jones dominated finishing with 22 points. Both teams are playing great heading into the championship game and the Badgers are coming off the biggest win in the tournament. The Badgers have a great, veteran team with something to prove after coming up short last year. This will be billed as Jalil Okafor vs. Frank Kaminsky in a battle of future lottery picks. The Blue Devils are trying to win their 5th national championship under Coach K and their first since 2010. Can the Blue Devils freshmen contain the veteran leadership of the Wisconsin Badgers on the biggest stage in the championship game? If the Blue Devils were to win this game and Coach K captures his 5th championship, where would he rank on the all-time coaches list? This is another tough game to pick but I think the Badgers will capture the championship.
