Now it’s time for the 2nd round of the NBA playoffs as the top seeded Golden State Warriors face the Memphis Grizzlies, who’s the 4th seed in the West. The Warriors are coming off a sweep of the New Orleans Pelicans as the Grizzlies took out the Portland Trailblazers in 5 games.
The Warriors continue to play great in their first 4 games of the 2015 NBA Playoffs as they swept the Pelicans in the first round. I was expecting the Pelicans to steal one game in this series, but Steph Curry played lights out including a game tying 3-pointer to send Game 3 into OT. Can the Warriors continue to play great against the Grizzlies and advance to the Western Conference Finals? The Memphis Grizzlies is one of the more physical, intense and defensive minded teams in the league and that’s what propelled them past the Portland Trailblazers. Coming into this series, the health of Mike Conley will be key to their success against Steph Curry and the Warriors. He is recovering from facial surgery after suffering a fracture in Game 3 against Portland. With or without Mike Conley, the Warriors are just too much for the Grizzlies, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this series went seven games with Memphis pulling out the upset. My feeling is that the Warriors are on a mission and will prevail in this series in 6 games.
