NBA Finals: Golden State vs. Cleveland

NBA FInals

Finally……….it’s time for the NBA Finals as the top seed from the Western Conference, Golden State meets the 2nd seed from the Eastern Conference, Cleveland. It’s crazy that most people had these two teams meeting from really the regular season and now here they go. The Warriors quest to the NBA Finals started with a sweep of New Orleans, beating Memphis in six games and finishing off the Houston Rockets in five games to advance to the NBA Finals. The Cavaliers quest to the NBA Finals started the playoffs by sweeping the Boston Celtics, then beating the Bulls in six games and then sweeping the Atlanta Hawks to advance to the NBA Finals.

Golden State WarriosCleveland Cavs logoThe Cleveland Cavaliers was 19-20 at one point in the season with so much turmoil going on with James being injured, reports of Coach David Blatt being fired and just everyone being frustrated. Everything turned around and with them making some trades to bring keys pieces to their team it all came together and they gelled. Adding a big man in the middle then adding Shumpert and J.R. Smith sealed things for them, but unfortunately Kevin Love went down with the shoulder injury in the first round. It’s crazy the Cavs only loss two games heading to the NBA Finals. Are they really that good or it’s because they East isn’t that good? Well they play the best team in the league for the chance to host up that championship trophy in the NBA Finals. Now on to the Golden State Warriors, who’s been the best team in the league all year, as mentioned are led by the MVP in Stephen Curry and his backcourt partner Klay Thompson, known together as the Splash Brothers. The Warriors are more than those two guys because they have a great overall team with depth everywhere. All those guys have contributed from Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes, Andrew Bogut, Andre Iguodala and just everyone. This series poses a match-up between arguably the two best point guards in Curry and Irving, whose handles are just crazy. This should be an exciting series with some jaw-dropping moments and plays, but in the end I believe the Warriors are the best overall team and will bring the trophy back to the Bay Area for the first time in 40 years.
