I know that some of the younger hip hop heads didn’t receive To Pimp a Butterfly album by Kendrick Lamar with open arms. Some of the issues I have found in this generation is that they don’t listen to all kinds of hip hop. They will bump Future, Waka Flocka, Gucci Mane, Drake or Meek Mill, but they don’t like Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole or Lupe Fiasco. I remember when I was around 11 or 12 years old and I was listening to bass music and 2 Live Crew, but was also listening to Big Daddy Kane, Eric B & Rakim, Slick Rick, NWA and Kid-n-Play. With that said, my Music Monday is off To Pimp a Butterfly from Kendrick Lamar and it’s You Ain’t Gotta Lie. I’ve stated plenty times before, I really love this album and still listen to it all the time.
